Damn right there shouldn't be a death tax.

Also, you are able to specifically tip the cooks and even the dishwasher if you wish. There are those that do just that. as I said previously, tipping is voluntary.

Defenseless? lol Last year the military spent 820.3 Billion dollars. Pretty sure that they'll be just fine with a $250 billion cut. Our military gets more money than the 10 top paying countries pay for their own militaries, combined. We'll be fine.

Edit: But if you're that worried, you can always tax the rich more to make up the difference. That IS the go to for Democrats anyways...

you apparently don't understand that we have an estate tax, not an inheritance tax
but neither should exist. they both are abominations since it is double taxation without any exchange for value

Yes we did. That budget can be divided into three categories: pay and benefits for all US soldiers, active, reserve, and national guard, research, and procurement of warships, planes, and other weapons. It is what it is. It is also 50% of the entire discretionary budget. Reducing that would embolden Russia AND China, and that is something we don't want. But apparently, you do for some odd reason.

EXCEPT for George Soros. When he kicks off, I’m for hitting his son with a 100% death tax beyond say $400,000. The Soros sponsored DAs are now responsible for unleashing crime waves all over the United States. Word it that he has a son, who will inherit, who is just as evil as he is.

It is Trump's perogative to give a tip. However, it is up to the company on whether to accept that tip or not. If so, then the staff will receive a pro-rata share of that tip, with SS and medicare taxes taken out, and the employees reveiving the net. It will then be added to their W2 for the time being, and taxed on their 2024 tax return.

that's a pretty lame attempt to denigrate Trump's generosity using nonsense that was created by Democrats

The death tax was passed by the progressive movement. It was designed to break up large family estate, but it’s most been a boon for lawyers who find ways to get around it. The progressives believed the “robber baron myths” of the 19th century.

Well, then you would be breaking the law. The Current exemption for the estate tax is $13.61 million, and adjusted annually. The estate tax maximum tax rate is 40%.

when George Soros does pass away, a Form 706 will be filed, but theere are deductions and exemptions that can reduce the taxable amount and the tax. And I am sure George Soros attorneys have that all covered.

It is not an excuse, it is the way things are. There have been people who tried to tip a waiter or waitress a $1000 on a meal that cost $50. The company returned the money, and the waiter/waitress did not get the tip. In other words, it will be no different there than the example below.
    Example:

it also was pushed by the temperance movement (as they also pushed the income tax) because one of the arguments against prohibition was the loss of revenue taxes. The death tax costs more than it brings in and in some cases is really awful

example-the death tax was sort of designed to do this-say Joe is worth 100M and he dies, the tax was designed to result in his heirs-if they lived a normal lifespan-to have an estate of about 100M.

    HOWEVER

take a case I am very familiar with

wealthy couple with two girls -young teenagers. The last grandparent had died and the estate tax takes a big hunk of the family wealth. Within a year (cannot recall exact timing)-some nutcase intent on committing suicide-drives the wrong way on I71 in Cincinnati, he survives but both parents are DOA. guess what. that huge estate tax hits again.

it needs to be eliminated-the people paying the estate tax are already over taxed

Yeah...don't think Putin cares about our military capability with Biden at the helm. And China's been poking at us for decades. Plus neither one is capable of attacking the US. All of their equipment is 1: Old and 2: not designed to cross the oceans outfitted for an invasion. Something absolutely needed to attack the US.

Russia sure is, especially with their nuclear arsenal. China is creating a blue navy, but not even Japan's self-defense forces can contain China either.

Fake News. It's your response that is unimpressive.
They aren't. Just their tips. Seems like reading comprehension isn't your thing.
You sound like one of those of the privileged gentry, with the fancy COLA's (Cost Of Living Adjustment), that make inflation nothing more than an abstract concept. Tips are NOT their only source of income.
You've completely lost your way. How can you simultaneously argue that tips do not help workers, but then lose your mind over the Federal Govenment not taking a cut of the worker's tips, after the Bribed Joe and Wild Spending Dems have destroyed nearly 20% of all the money they make, in just over 3 years?
You sound like quite the scrooge who resents the expectation to tip for good service. When I'm in Europe, I tip there, just like I do here, and I find that the folks greatly appreciate it and wish that folks like you would show them the respect.
You are unbelievable. You have no concept of free will and the liberty to engage in free transactions with your fellow human beings. Like many on the power obsessed Left, when you don't like something, you are not satisfied with your existing freedom to refrain from participating, you want everyone FORBIDDEN from such social transactions. You have no legitimate power to forbid a Free People from freely tipping their fellow free Americans when they voluntarily choose to do so. Your complete unawareness of the inherent Freedom and Liberty of others is shocking. You should not only be aware of the freedom and liberty of your fellow Americans, you should be deeply committed to securing them.

Your point here exactly illustrates how deeply progressives have sunk in their mad thirst for power over others, even though they continue to misappropriate the label of "Liberal". Re-read your point and let it sink in that what you describe is NOT Liberalism, but Totalitarianism. And the DNC is completely overcome with the Authoritarian mindset. The once great party of liberation has completely fallen to Totalitarianism, to where they actually get angry at the thought of a hardworking American, who makes far less than they do, who does not have their job security, who sure as hell does not get COLA adjustments as Crazed Biden and the Dems wild spending rob their spending power, keeping more of their own hard earned money.

If Dems want to stop this, then they will. That's up to the conscience of the each and every member of Congress.

And if they do, perhaps the Senate that is sworn in on Jan 3 has the votes to pass this and put it on Bribed Joe's desk for signature.

I am sure the Soros has his money in trusts which will allow his son-clone to avoid almost all, if not all, death taxes.

A long time ago, back in the 90s, there was a discussion about the death tax on TV. At that time, if George Steinbrenner had died and left his share of the Yankees to his kids, they'd have to sell the team to raise the cash to pay the taxes. I can only imagine what's going to happen to Musk.

The death tax is pure evil.

Hoo ray! It is chump change anyway for the lower paid service workers and takes a ton of effort to record and file tax forms for.
