Tennessee lawmakers have passed a bill banning the release of airborne chemicals that critics say is inspired by "chemtrails" conspiracy theories.

The bill forbids "intentional injection, release, or dispersion" of chemicals into the air.

It doesn't explicitly mention chemtrails, which conspiracy theorists believe are poisons spread by planes.

Instead it broadly prohibits "affecting temperature, weather, or the intensity of the sunlight".

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68716894

I wonder if it considers CO2 that we all inject into the air as a chemical or perhaps H2O trails left behind aircraft? I guess those chemtrails aren't injected but rather condensed. I love it when politicians think they are scientists.

I am so glad Tennessee is working on the most important things like this, banning cold beer and targeting drag queens while ignoring their failing healthcare and education systems.

What is wrong with Republicans?

Interesting. The term "chemicals" is very broad. I wonder if that means no more cloud seeding or crop dusting.

Literally everything in rightwinglandia is some X-Files level conspiracy.

But keep in mind that this is all just distraction. Keep looking at the sky at the chem-trails while we install our own religious agendas. Your religion has absolutely no place in my government. The right has their agenda, and it is to use religion to take away your rights. Your right to your own sexuality, your right to your own body, and woman should be barefoot and in the kitchen. Then they tell you in the very next sentence that you need to make your own way in this world. They use a book (the Bible) to justify their actions. You know, that book written by man, thousands of years ago who stoned people to death, or hung them on wooden crosses for planting 2 crops in the same field.

The level of acceptance to anything other than their bible from the right is amazing. But they scream on high every day about "FREEEEEDDDDDUUMMMBBBBSSSS", unless your female, or gay......

Don't get so holier than thou. The left has had their fair share of stupid. Flat Earth, Tide Pod eating, Dihydrogen Monoxide banning, .223 head blowing off, Guam tipping silliness.

c'mon Par, do you honestly think that since Trump took office, that the 2 are even remotely equal ?

YES, the left has their nutters, but the entire republican party is now living in the State of Denial, in the city of Nuttersvile

Not EVERY republican is, but it is now part of their platform to repeat the lies and install Trump again

Some in PA are trying to do the same. It is based on the idiotic idea of chem trails. :)

Seems TN and PA are going down the stupid trail at full speed.

I believe Jones has gone super stupid longer than Trump has stuck his nose directly in politics. Trump has certainly embraced it.

Agreed

If just ONE civil, personable, competent person got in the race I would embrace them like a long lost brother. How is it that a country of 330 MILLION people can only get an old codger who looks like he could drop at any minute, and a guy who believe he is above the law, as our only real choices as our LEADER ?

I'll be glad to see return us to reasonable gas prices, lower inflation, more secure borders, safer streets, lower taxes, stronger military, no new wars, and so much more. He's already demonstrated he can bring us these things. It will be wonderful to get them back!

The day Trump left office, Inflation was 1.6%. Biden drove it up over 8%. Now it is down to 3.1%. Saying that's good is like thanking your rapist for not raping you three times a day anymore... only once daily. (THANK YOU SIR! MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?)

VIOLENT crime is down? LOLOL

Our military is weak. We have depleted our POMCUS stocks by sending so much stuff to Ukraine and our shortages are a threat to natonal security.. We can't meet our recruiting goals anymore. Sorry.. we're getting weaker every day.

America is not in any wars? Sending endless billions in equipment to Ukraine makes us a participant. And its draining us dry.

Good lord man......

Why did inflation soar when Trump left office ? Because he gave away $4 TRILLION dollars in 2020 during the pandemic, and nobody was working........you know inflation is a lagging indicator...right ?

you will note that it is down from when he took office

you mean those POMCUS stoks form the 80's ?

How is equipment from the 80's that we have stock piles of from overspending on defense for the last 40 years, hurting us ?

And you know that their being used now because if we dont stop Putin in Ukraine, we will have to stop him here or in Europe...right ?

Inflation went up under Biden because of his war on oil. That drove up the price of EVERYTHING that was transported to market.
- Consumers Pay The Price As Biden’s War On Oil And Gas Expands (forbes.com)
- Biden’s War on Oil Hits Consumers - WSJ
- Joe Biden's war on oil and reckless economic policies have imperiled national security (nypost.com)
- Don't Be Fooled — Biden's War Against Oil And Gas Is Far From Over (forbes.com)
- Joe Biden’s war on oil and reckless economic policies have imperiled national security (msn.com)

That graph is unreadable. What does it say? Have a link? Inflation was 1.6% the day Biden took office. It is now 3.15% (What is the Current U.S. Inflation Rate? (inflationdata.com))

POMCUS is kept current. All the equipment is updated regularly... well... what's left after we sent most of it to Ukraine.

We have not been "overspending" on defense. Defense funding is proposed and passed by your (and my) representatives in Congress. You make it sound like the CEO of Lockheed determines spending levels. That's BS. The Congress decides how much is spent. You don't like representative government? You don't like democracy? In any case, our warfighting equipment is being depleted as we send more and more of it to Ukraine.

Putin has been unable to defeat Ukraine... for YEARS now. He can't even establish air superiority over Ukraine, a country that essentially has no Air Force. He invaded Ukraine expecting a quick victory. In his opening move he invaded to capture Kyev. H egot clobbered as his tanks lined up bumper to bumper and were destoyed by US Javelins. His Black Sea fleet is being devastated. Russia presents no threat to Russia. The Russian military can't beat its way out of a paper bag.

Ahh..."the war on oil"......that old republican bird......

Go ahead and tell us how that war was waged;)

Hence my comment that inflation is a LAGGING INDICATOR........

You dont think we spend $1.6 TRILLION per year to augment what we have do you ? ****, we replace yearly with that budget. Good lord man, its was OLD becasue it was last years model. If we stokpiled $1.6 trillion every year we would need to take over the state of Missouri just to store it.

You cannot be serious here ? You dont think Lockheed and other military contractors donate to political campaigns ? We haven't fought a war in 15 well over 10 years, and our military budget goes UP every year. YES, our representatives have been bought and paid for every year by military contractors.

Because we sent them weapons, NOT money......we sent them our surplus weapons and munitions....

Reminds me of teaching my 5 kids not to use the term "literally" improperly. I agree with opposing government interference, but dems just replace it with other abuses of power.

On this topic, I don't understand the problem the bill is trying to solve.

yep, the few billion we send to Ukraine and Israel is nothing compared to the trillions we spent in the Middle East, just to have Trump make a deal with the terrorists and leave Afghanistan out of the deal

Here's how Biden's "War On Oil" is being waged... from such nationally recognized sources as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and more.

Biden caused inflation to skyrocket IMMEDIATELY. Inflation was 1.6% when Biden took over. "Consumer prices up 7.5 percent over year ended January 2022 ": The Economics Daily: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov)

Your view of military equipment indicates a tremendous lack of knowledge about how things work in defense. We do not replace things easily. The M1 tanks we use today were in service in the 1980's. They have been upgraded, but NOT REPLACED. The M16's we use today are the same ones we used in Vet Nam... with upgrades. (And will soon be replaced but haven't been yet) Most of our defense budget is spent on salaries, and pensions... well over half.

Yes, we HAVE fought wars... in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and more. (Did you really miss the whole Iraq and Afghanistan wars? Really?)

"our representatives have been bought and paid for every year by military contractors"???? Gees, I haven't heard such left wing radical talk in a long time. I thought all such rhetoric died when the radical Ho Chi Minh supporters died out. Gees... its been a long time since I heard such radical sloganeering.
