Yet another person wishing to do America harm. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/...annbe_attempts_to_blow_nLpU0NvebBebzQhjPNv8CM
I would put up more than one line of commentary before someone who doesn't want Islam to be scrutinized reports your post for "not meeting guidelines". So a Middle Eastern man posts about Jihad online and then tries to blow up a building. Sounds like a Coptic Christian to me.
I don't have a problem with the FBI setting up a sting. I have no problem with people posting their dislike for our country on the internet, but when they take that next step, I want the FBI there filling the role of "like-minded compatriot". I'd rather have that then an actual attack getting through our filters.
How many terrorists were doing this stuff before 9/11? Is it more or less, and if so, why is every plot being disclosed now while in the past it would have been classified to avoid panic. After 9/11 terrorists seem to be this omni-present force ready to blow everything, everywhere up to achieve Jihad? I call bullcrap. Why? Because these things are almost always, "In the make" when they are "foiled". Counter-terrorism is largely reactionary. There's no way you can keep track of every cell and if they were determined to blow things up, they know they don't have to go after big targets to get attention. They could blow up a corner store or a subway station entrance during rush hour. It is incredibly easy to do carnage here if there are supposedly secret terrorist cells all around the world, but you don't see that. Why. Because it's not really happening. It's all being either fabricated or blown way out of proportion to raise hate-sentiment in the Middle East so that America's continued actions there seem plausible. The formula seems simple. As the worlds new anti-terrorism police, a world-wide terrorist ring gives America world-wide jurisdiction.
My grandfather was in the FBI. The were at that time, and remain today, the most professional and effective law enforcement agency in the world. Kudos to these people for a job well done.
I would like to submit a motion regarding the moral turpitude of bearing false witness to our own laws, our privileges and immunities, and the concept of reciprocity between our government and civic persons as sovereign individuals. Perjury is against law, and so should operations which are the result of "reverse" forms of perjury.
No kidding. The FBI pretty much recruited this dude, gave him the fake material, and the target. Then when they arrest their recruit, they pat themselves on the back. Top notch law enforcement work.
Had the agents been legitimate members of a terrorist organization, rest assured, this jihadi would've pressed the button detonating the 1,000lbs of explosives.
A Bangladeshi terrorist tried to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Lower Manhattan this morning using a 1,000-pound bomb, according to a criminal complaint. Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, of Jamaica, Queens, parked a van filled with the fake explosives which were provided by an undercover FBI agent outside of the Liberty Street building, authorities said, then tried to set them off using a cell phone detonator. During a recorded meeting in Central Park with the agent, Nafis said his goal was Muslim global domination. I dont want something thats like small. I just want something big, he said. Something very big. Very very very very big, that will shake the whole country, that will make America, not one step ahead, change of policy, and make one step ahead, for the Muslims ... that will make us one step closer to run the whole world. Nafis, who is here on a student visa, came to the US to carry out a terror attack, authorities said, and claimed to have connections to al-Qaeda overseas. He tried to recruit more terrorists to carry out an attack in the process, he unwittingly enlisted the help of the undercover FBI agent. The agent made contact with the jihadist in July, when the terrorist tried to recruit him for an attack, documents say. Over a series of recorded meetings and phone calls, Nafis laid out his plans and said he had contacts with al-Qaeda who could help plan an attack.
Think about it this way. If the FBI fishes 1,000 of these internet "terrorists" every week or month or whatever, a huge majority become nothing more than talk. If, however, one pans out every few years, then all the effort is worth it. The FBI isn't entrapping anyone. This individual pushed the envelope into a realm that the FBI had to respond to.
If he's found guilty by a court of law, I'll say the same thing. But, these methods the FBI are employing are lazy.
Okay, point taken about the judgement, but if he did what they allege, he is clearly a psycho and deserves to be in jail and I'm glad he got busted by the FBI.
You cannot encourage someone to do something, make the arrest, and then take credit for it. You can infiltrate a gang, find out the plot, then take credit for that.
I mean, I'm not trying to be all conspiracy theorist, but... No one thinks its funny that a month before an election that is tight Obama's DOJ is busting some crazy person who wants to blow the Federal Reserve? How many Muslims go around saying: God(*)(*)(*)(*) that Federal Reserve. It is paleoconservatives and libertarians that do. This is all shady.
The retardation of some Americans shines through in this thread. Hey morons! It was this young man's duty to commit al-jihad. If the fbi didnt set him up he would have eventually contacted actual islamic terror cells inside this nation and complete a successful terrorist attack. Oh what's that, islam isnt peace and love? No (*)(*)(*)(*)
But but but....al Qaeda is on our heels. Obama has emboldened the terrorists with his drone strikes and his stump speech "I killed Osama I killed Osama". Good job idiot.
If that is true we would all be long dead.... You Christian Zionists are just as bad as the Islamic extremists...
