Texas added more jobs in 2023 than California and New York combined

2nd place out of 50 isn't "terrible" unless you are claiming that EVERYTHING SHORT OF FIRST PLACE OUT OF 50 IS TERRIBLE, which is insane and you know it. And, buddy, pal, I live in Texas. I just remember enough of my MBA to see past this vapid garbage.

Did the University of Phoenix not require you to take an analytics or statistics class? Rice made me. I damn sure wasn't going to UH. It might have been $100k+, but Shell was generous enough to pay for it. Just try exploring the data a little bit, and maybe you'll get it.

Never been to U of Phoenix, nor are you comprehending basic analytics and stats if you are claiming what you have claimed here. I'd "try exploring the data a little bit," but you've made it clear you can't discuss the data.

I'm not claiming anything at this point. I'm questioning whether you have any semblance of critical thinking when you fail to see how whoafully bad California's performance here is. But hey, they gained more jobs than North Dakota. That's a dub.:roflol:

I'm comparing California to all other states, not just North Dakota. Try to read. Use that education that you claim you have. But you are convinced that Texas is the only state that exists.

Of course I know other states exist. I'm making fun of them in this very thread touting Texas economic performance because it makes liberals like you who hate the state's politics and don't get to share in the prosperity mad to hear about it.

I'm also trying to get you to understand why California's job performance wasn't that good, but you can't seem to wrap your head around why.

If cities being blue had anything to do with job creation then why didn't CA and NY see this type of growth in their even bluer cities/states?

This was growth in a state that's business friendly and it's that way because it's NOT controlled by democrats. This is clear as day but you can spin it as much as you want. The truth is clear to everyone.

Strange how you said all of that and still didn’t answer such a simple question. I guess a non-answer is the answer in this case.

The main reason people are leaving blue states, especially California and New York — is prices. Another question you get to ignore: Would you like to guess what happens when more people pile into an area with lower taxes and start needing actual governance and city services?

One of the reasons Texas thrived during the period of the China Virus was that Governor Abbott outlawed all the China Virus Tyranny (mandatory masks, separation, school/business closings, etc. We still joke that our kids will be doctors and astronauts while blue state kids are still in their pajamas at home learning to read.

Sweetheart, again, I live in Texas. Quite willingly. I've been offered many chances to leave. I can leave any time I want. But you are literally saying that you are going to pick a single economic measure, declare the best state by that measure to be the only successful state, and declare 2nd place to be a complete loss. That's insane. Rice should have thought you better than that bull ****. Hell, your average elementary school kid is smarter than that vapid brain vomit.

You need to be offered the chance to leave Texas? You can't just go? I'm sorry to hear that. You'll be alright though. It's the best state there is. We took the kids skiing at Whistler last year, did Disney, and spent two weeks in Alaska, but we're always happy to get back to IAH.

It just bugs me that you don't understand how California's performance here is bad.

Anyone who wants to leave a state has to have the chance to leave. If they don't have the chance to leave, then they can't leave. That's what the word "chance" means.

How is second best out of 50 in the most prosperous country in the history of the world "bad"? And why do you cherry pick your metrics?

That's really it. The left was terrified of a cold virus. A lot of local governments here realized their mistakes quickly and tried to get us back to life as usual. I remember when Joe Biden said if we listened to him we could have a tiny barbecue on the 4th of July in 2021. I had my regular pool party in 2020 with families a kids over. We were getting together that entire summer actually. Meanwhile, the residents of New York developed the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome I've ever seen. They were totally okay with being forced out of work, made to carry their papers, and kept at home for months on end, and they accepted the idea that it was for their own good.

You're missing out on life if you're afraid to move unless you have a "chance".

80% percent of the variation in jobs growth is explained by variation in state population. Job growth is very straight forward metric indicative of economic performance. I'm sure you'd like to use the natural log of homeless adjusted poverty weighted by political ideology or something, but I tend to frown on voodoo math.

It isn't about being afraid. And you have to have a chance in order to move. By definition. I'm sorry facts are making you upset, but they remain facts.

Cool story, bro. Now try actually responding to what I wrote. Why do you think that 49 states suck and that only the 1 state sporting your favorite metric of the days somehow counts?

And, since you didn't read the previous time, I will try again with: How is second best out of 50 in the most prosperous country in the history of the world "bad"? And why do you cherry pick your metrics?

It's okay. It's a scary world for some people.

I really just made fun of California and New York, and they deserve to be made fun of here, but mostly this was a thread to promote my state's economic success. You can always depend on a dim to come in and dispute it, and you didn't disappoint. I suppose I could use economic growth by state. Do you think that's going to paint the picture you want to see?

I explained it. I apologize if it went over your head.

I don't think you know what the word "chance" means in this context.

I didn't say a word about your celebrating our state's success. It's your fake "failure" claims about other state that are dumber than dog ****. I apologize if your own OP went over your head.

There are those leaving California for Texas because that's where the jobs are.

Yet California has a higher GDP than Texas.

I love California. Skiing in Lake Tahoe over spring break is almost a tradition. It doesn't change the fact that the state is horribly run.

This sound eerily similar to a smoker saying I can quit whenever I want or some incel saying "I've had the chance, I just didn't want to".

This thread is full of posts trying to discredit the state's economic performance. You'd have to be blind to not see it. Then again, you don't see how California and New York's job growth numbers weren't good and argued they were because both states added more jobs than North Dakota.

New York once had the largest economy of any state. Now it's a state that becomes less relevant every year.
