It appears that Texas will take over the job that the federal government refuses to do... namely keep the invading army of grifting Democrat voters out. Looks like we have a Constitutional crisis incoming, I hope the governor simply defies the federal government as Democrat states consistently do.

It was against the wishes of local city officials from Eagle Pass and what was agreed upon by said city officials. This is just another publicity stunt by Abbott in his upcoming legal battle with SCOTUS and more evidence that the GOP wants to rule, not govern. The problem is this was not a place where illegals were crossing over.

Lets put Texas in charge of the border. Think of all the money we will save.

It's a scary thought that you probably don't have enough buses to handle the amount of people coming in.

Isn't putting people on busses to ship them to cities like NY or Chicago nothing more than punishing them for their political views. It surely does nothing to stem the influx at the border.

I'm sure even you can see Abbott is using the conflict as a political tool to enhance his popularity. It's obvious.

Biden administration demands that the Texas attorney general give Border Patrol access to a park taken over by Texas

On Monday, the Supreme Court delivered a win for the Biden administration in one of its many legal disputes with the state of Texas over immigration, ruling that the Border Patrol be allowed to cut and remove razor wire put in place by Texas along the Rio Grande in Shelby Park and elsewhere to restrict migrants from crossing the river into the U.S.

Abbott has no legal ground to stand on and he knows it.

The Demented Tyrant Bribed Joe Gives Abbott a 24 Hour Deadline To Allow His Agents to Throw Open the Borders to Invaders; Abbott Says He's Not Budging

The deadline passed several hours ago. 'Abbott says he will not allow federal agents access to Texas land to cut the razorwire barriers and effectively merge the US with Mexico and points south.'

'Abbott says that if Biden attempts to nationalize the Texas Guard, he will send non-Guard back-ups from Texas and other states to man the border.'

Texas and several states are preparing to face down the completely mad Open Borders policy of Bribed Joe.

'ten other states have sent national guard to the Texas border, and others will follow. Abbott says he is “prepared” for a conflict with federal authorities.'

how is giving them what they say they are fine with punishment?

They aren’t sanctuary cities for “X amount of people”. They are sanctuary cities. Period.

Abbott has told Bribed Joe to pound sand.
25 other states have already staged National Guard to fill in if bribed Joe nationalizes the Texas Guard.
Abbott has other armed state forces that he has ready to fill in Bribed Joe nationalizes the Texas Guard.

The Border Patrol has stated they will not arrest Guard Troops who are trying to secure the border and they will NOT remove razor wire in use to secure the border.

So everyone is pretty much telling Bribed Joe to sod off. So what's this Bribed Farce's plan B? Send the corrupt FBI?

'Furthering the division between the Border Patrol and the White House was a senior CBP official who said they have no plans to follow through on removing the razor wire put up by Texas. Biden has completely lost whatever leverage he had.'

BORDER PATROL: "the relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS, & TMD remains strong... Bottom line: Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure (c-wire) placed by Texas along the border. Our posture remains the same."

Bribed Joe 'has no way to enforce his' unconstitutional 'threats at this point. Border Patrol agents are not going to go along with it and short of using the Insurrection Act to mobilize the U.S. Army (and they likely wouldn't act either), this represents a major roadblock to the president's attempts to further destroy the Southern border.'

Never underestimate Bribed Joe's tendency to double down on a losing hand.

Because Texas is not trying to punish the immigrants. It is doing so to punish the cities for their political views.

Was my question difficult? How is sending immigrants to sanctuary cities punishment?

Your answer appears to be “because it’s intended to be” which is a bogus non-answer. Try again

It is a move to place these cities in chaos by dropping busloads of people unannounced on a city's street corner in order to punish them for being "sanctuary cities" It has nothing to do with solving a problem it has a lot to do with creating one. I suspect you understand that though.

It’s sharing the wealth and prosperity. It’s providing sanctuary cities with a robust tax base by supplying ambitious motivated workers to economies that need labor.

And again, you simply reword the same answer which is it is punishing because they intend it to be, not because it is.

I can intend to win the lottery. That doesn’t make it so.

Then I guess I don't understand. Make it clear to me. Why are these people being transferred without notice to these cities. Why only these cities and not cities like Salt Lake city? What is positive about this practice? How does this help solve the border problems?

"The images from that day were upsetting; it appeared to be a crude PR gambit. Abbott was toying with migrants’ lives to own the libs.

The governor dispatched dozens more buses, eventually picking a handful of Democrat-run cities to surprise, including New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. At each destination, volunteers mobilized to welcome the new arrivals, but they often struggled to do so effectively. Local mayors argued that Abbott was intentionally making the situation more difficult by sending buses unannounced. A source in the New York City mayor’s office told me that “the state of Texas has not coordinated with us at all.” Not to be outdone, Florida governor Ron DeSantis and then–Arizona governor Doug Ducey also began sending migrants from the border to northern cities, the former from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, an island with no immigration nonprofits."

because these cities say they can take them

Salt Lake is not a sanctuary city

The illegal immigrants are routed safely to where they want to go instead of dangerously figuring it out for themselves and arriving at cities that are designated sanctuary cities on record as willing and able to take them in.

If those cities can’t handle it, they can remove their sanctuary status. Have any done so??

Also, this alleviates the burden on the border states which is obviously a huge positive unless you mean to tell me a few thousand in blue cities are horrible but a few million in red ones are super awesome?

it doesn’t. It manages it. If you’re looking to solve it you picked the wrong Fin President for that.
