So, why is Democrats' recreational drug policies in the 1960s relevant to what they should do and say about the use marijuana and other drugs in 2020? Here's a quick test for you... What is Steppenwolf's ,"Don't Step on the Grass Sam" about? Who was "Sam" and what was his political party?
You can't mess with someone's pay either in the public and private sector like that. The President already has the constitutional authority to nominate up to the last day of his term in office and the Senate's role is spelled out advise and either consent or not. Nothing about a vote the Constitution clearly says that each body of the Congress shall make their own procedure rules.
Ahhhh "Like all Federal judges, Supreme Court Justices serve lifetime appointments on the Court, in accordance with Article III of the United States Constitution. In 211 years, there have been just 17 Chief Justices, and a total of 112 Justices have served on the Supreme Court." https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/no...l judges, Supreme, served on the Supreme Court. It can only be changed by amendment and there was nothing dishonest about the Barrett confirmation, both the President and the Senate carried out their Constitutional authority.
Actually if I refused to do my job, I wouldn't be paid ... permanently. My point is that part of your amendment should make it more clear that Congress has a job to do and needs to carry out their responsibilities in a timely manner.
Not consenting is "doing their job". And they just did so in a timely manner and the Dems had a fit about it.
We did, and we will. Obama selected Merrick Garland. That seat was stolen. Plain and simple. And based on the criteria that the Repubs set when denying that, Amy Carret is a second stolen seat then. So. We did win. And will continue to win elections.
First know this about me. I voted when living in CA for the legalization of MJ. Apparently you are a fan of the same drug. I was a republican and did want the MJ crime laws killed. We did it in CA. The part you hate so much is that but for Democrats laws, there would never have been an anti drug law making MJ illegal. Who is John Galt? Don't step on the grass Sam is not among the songs I recall having heard. OK I don't know much about Steppenwolf's music and listened to Don't step on the Grass Sam, a Vietnam war era song, and also Magic Carpet Ride that I was actually familiar with and am not able to explain to anybody what Don't step on the grass was about.
Merrick Garland makes some dumb decisions on the Supreme Court Barratt makes great decisions. Oh wait, you mean the Garland that nobody approved! Of course that Garland.
There are Senate Rules that covered both the Garland and Barrett nominations. Each time this was an issue. the rules were followed. Reid is kicking his own arse over his changing the rules of the Senate.
This is the Dan Baum you speak of. Dan Baum @danielsbaum · May 8, 2009 Nobody leaves a New Yorker job voluntarily. I was fired. And over the next few days, I’ll tell that story here, in 140 https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/...t-64/289-562f73dd-a35a-4060-9824-d3c8dae37a55 Funny how his obituary never mentions any Anti Nixon hit book. Frankly given he died at age 64 he was a teen when Nixon was president. Apparently he did go against Coors Brewing though. Smoke and Mirrors is the book you tried to quote from. Without me reading the book, I am left to try to decide if the book is worth the read or not. I will study more about the nature of the book. For instance will it hammer Democrats or just Nixon?
Refusing to do your just isn't doing your job. I am not asking that Congress vote for the president's pick. I'm suggesting they vote ON the president's pick. Also, the Senate and the President can't get paid or go into recess until they have all finished their job. If my co-worker and I just stopped working because we refused to cooperate, we would be fired and rightly so.
No, Ronnie, nobody stole anything from you. Everything was done in STRICT accordance with the Constitution... unlike the corrupt construction of Obamacare, for instance.... BTW, don't worry... when the SCOTUS takes that illegal sack of crap up in a few weeks, we'll finally be RID of it!
First, the seat was not stolen. It went exactly as the constitution requires. Second, Trump had every right to nominate, and the senate had every right to confirm. Third, every party claims they will win every election from this point forward. In 240+ years, it's never worked out that way, and it never will.
"Don't Step on the Grass Sam" is about the Joe Pyne Show (Joe Pyne) where then LA Mayor Sam Yorty, a Democrat (!), was on the show with Joe Pyne and "a guy who doesn't count because his head and clothes are too far out." You bet I know there were Democrats and Republicans fighting over who could better demagogue over pot. Liberals have legalized marijuana at the state level in a few states. They should get credit for that. The "war on drugs" is stupid, hateful way of pandering to mostly older voters.
You mean the court seat that was stolen from obama. I will never think of it any other way. Mitch is a snake.
You keep using that word stolen. It doesn't mean what you think it means. Stolen does not mean, "The senate did its' job, but I don't like what they did."
See, thas what happens when they actually VOTE. No. The SENATE did not do its job. Cocaine Moscow Mitch made a decision for every person in America to steal a supreme court seat. There is literally NOTHING you can say they will change this. No matter how much you want to hero worship the bad orange man or the russian ruler of the senate.
