the tax payer to fund the training of priests and other religious workers. What a slap in the face for Australian students and their parents! With this, hot on the heals of the school chaplain programme, we are moving away from separation of state and church. http://www.smh.com.au/federal-polit...t-funds-priests-training-20141205-120a3c.html
Repost! I guess Abbott and Pyne weren't kidding when they said they'd correct Australian education being too left leaning.
Hmmm, I always wonder how and why people still go to church, knowing what is going on in some of them. Maybe ask Toneee, if you can't get a headjob done at home, the church is a safe bet.... Anyway, I am not surprised to see this happen under the leadership of a right wing extremist, bit of the opposition to ISIS, so it seams. Regards
People have gone to church because it is a security blanket. Either that or for social reasons. Like they have for thousands of years. Government helps pay for the churches like they always have. This issue has not much to do with education of children.
There was a reference in a letter to the editor in, I think either the Fairfax press or the Guardian (Oz) to authoritarian clerics. Immediately I thought of Austria before the Anschluss. This government is full of right wing Catholics. And folks wail about Sharia?
That is my worry as well. We will have much more religious input, in various way, thanks to Toneee. And I still think Cardinal Pell didn't take a serious stand enough, when questioned about pedophiles among priests. Regards
I'm concerned that they're taking my money, not with what they're doing with it. Who cares - just give it back. They shouldn't just cut their education budget, they should abolish it.
