The Medicaid money is a good deal even using the STATES numbers in Florida done last year over ten years we put in $3 billion we get $30 billion back and if you add in the economic activity of that money its more like (conservatively) $150 billion back. And we cover millions of poor Floridians many of whom are going to not get health coverage without being on Medicaid.

That is the same reason other states should expand Medicaid its more money than put in and that beefed up by the economic impact of each dollar in state economies.

I know the Federal government takes a hit that states should not consider that but rather how this money benefits them and secondarily the good of low income uninsured getting coverage. And this can be paid for a penny sales tax for state health care, funds cut to local communities for indigent care could help since local governments and hospitals will not need that money if people have Medicaid and the state could ask local governments to pay in something just get creative with new and existing funds. But the states need to be selfish and take the money and use their clout once in to keep the funding.

    Its all about the bucks.
