BetaMax was far superior to the VHS, technologically. Oddly. there are may repeated examples of the 'least qualified actually getting the job' in US history. Another is Microsoft Windows, which was so badly outclassed by IBM's OS/2 it wasn't even in the same ballpark. OS/2 was far and away the better operating system. For some reason, slick marketing takes precedent over actual qualifications when it comes to picking winners and losers. Come to think of it, our current potus is a great example of that.
