    on aug 6 an 9th the world is witness to the most destructive weapon ever conceived by man. and the wait for Japan's answer begins. not long. tomorrow the Emperor will broadcast to the empire that the most destructive war in history will end

    Surviving WWII veteran radioman helped get word out that Japan surrendered...

    WWII vet transmitted news of Japanese surrender 70 years ago
    2 Sept.`15 — Stephen Dennis enlisted in the Navy soon after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Less than a year later, the raw 19-year-old recruit was thrust into fighting off the Solomon Islands and survived one of the fiercest naval battles in the South Pacific.

    So many innocent people were killed by those atomic bombs. Horrifying!
