I was talking to a friend who has a friend visiting from Sweden and my friend could not believe that her taxes were around half her income and maybe another 20%, so her net pay is around 30% of gross. Says he asked her how she could stand it, she said she did not mind becuase unlike the USA her government in Sweden is competent. I couldn't fooling believe it. Government competent? Not ours. I do wonder what a competent congress and administration could do for us. If only the country was ran the way it was spelled out in the constitution...
I know a couple from Belgium who come here a few months of the year and have a property here. The husband is an electrical engineer and I asked him why don't they immigrate here, he said for him to immigrate here is almost impossible. I told him just take a cruise to Mexico and jump ship and just cross the border and speak Spanish! I don't think the words competent and government have ever been known to go together very well. Lol
