I don't remember ever defending anyone murdering someone, now if they were defending themselves from racist cops that is a different story. Oh that's right cops never break the law.
I am not sure what "garden variety evil" you are addressing in your post. If your grandparents remember the 20's, I am assuming you lived during the time of segregation or thereabouts and have living memories of hate and discrimination that others of us do not have. Perhaps you are more sensitive to being slighted because of it, and perhaps those of us who have no living memories of that time have a higher threshold of what constitutes this type of hate. As for the OP article, even the writer indicated he was not sure of the meaning of it. To be stereotypical, he had a Jewish sounding last name and focused on anti-Jewish comments and really offered up no worthy analysis other than anecdotal and unverified data based on self-reporting of some members at Stormfront. I don't know what to make of it either, but my gut instinct is it is better that these people have some place to exorcise their impulses online than to act them out in the community around them.
