I have lots of Conservative friends (especially here and back in Houston.

They genuinely hope the economy turns around and does so FAST. You know, country comes before party / ideology.
Not here. Here all they talk about is how things WILL tank! I mean, you can see the feeling behind it. Screw the country. Hurting Obama and the Dems is more important.

Like me, they own guns but they think there is such a thing a common sense laws. They also agree with me that lack of enforcement and penalties, not laws are our bigger problem.
Not here. It's all or nothing. Extreme Whackjobism.

What's sad is that the Conservatives I know from church or work or wherever are SUCH great people! But the Liberals here see only one kind of Conservatism: Extreme.

I can see where they would think Conservs are a bunch of whackjobs but that's really not the case. It's a shame there aren't more normal, somewhat moderate and reasonable Conservs and Repubs here.

Its the nature of the internet that people say extreme things. Its the lack of a feedback loop. When you talk to a person face to face, he frowns when you say something he disagrees with, and you pull back the rhetoric in response to avoid damaging the relationship. On the internet, we don't have that instant reaction to what we say, and things become more and more extreme over time.

Anyway, I'd love for the economy to improve. I'm tired of being broke and unable to find work. I just don't think that's going to happen with Obama as President, since he is so hostile to business.

Interesting opinion. So what specifically has Obama done that is "so hostile to business"? I own a small business. He hasn't come and punched me or anything. He and the Dems have actually done a couple things that help out small businesses that hire 100% American and pay our taxes 100% in America - as opposed to Global Corps that take American jobs and ship them to poverty states - with the blessing and protection of the GOP. I am happy to support both of these positions with verifiable facts and links, if you like.

Weird, the same thing for me to. I joined the Young Republican club at school, and they weren't that extreme at all. But I will admit, we had a really stupid guest speaker.
