Those of you planning to vote for Ron Paul had best be looking closely at his running mate. (who would he pick anyway?) Paul would be 77 when he takes office. 81 if he ends up being a 2 termer. :tombstone: I'm just sayin'....

He is going to pick Sarah Palin as his Vp. No way he can win without the number of voters she would bring to him. He has no other option really.

No, no, no...Paul appeals to those young confused idealists. Those that were too young to vote in '08, but have endured 4 years of anti-Palin propaganda spewed out by their knowledgeable high school teachers (sarcasm).

I understand but considering he finished 3rd in Iowa and will likely have the a second or third place finish in both New Hampshire and South Carolina he is going to come up short on votes. If he does that in the first 3 contests than its safe to assume that's what his standard finish will be in most races.

Palin will bring in quite a lot of people that might push him ahead of the other guys. It might not be the match-up that Paul supporters want but he needs the numbers. Vice Presidents usually are selected for what votes they can bring anyways whether its overall votes or certain states.

If he would picks Sarah Palin as running mate, I would definitely vote for him - especially considering his age - lol. I'd love to hear the shrieks and howls of madness from the Left at his unfortunate passing - one month after his inauguration - hehe. President Palin!

In the Past, Paul has mentioned both Chuck Hagel (R), and Dennis Kucinich (D).

You may have taken notice of Palin's recent on air comments about not counting Paul out and how he shouldn't be taken for granted. Might be nothing but might be something. The good thing about this is that Paul probably wouldn't lose many supporters since his followers are pretty set in their mind that he's the best choice so it could only be a plus for him.

How this would play out in a general election though is a different story. On the positive side, Sarah Palin has been vetted so there will be no dark secrets emerging and she has had a good 4 years of experience in regards to interviews and general political knowledge so she would be much wiser on the campaign trail.

Palin is a horrible idea for his Vice President. I like Sarah Palin, I think she's honest, decent, and well intentioned. However, her as Vice President would bring the circus to the Ron Paul camp and that isn't what he needs.
    An endorsement would suffice.

I'm leaning towards wanting Ron Paul to choose a liberty minded General as a VP but not committed to the idea.

Yes but she would bring an awful lot of votes his way which is what he does need. Alot of people already consider his campaign a circus so he could shrug that off as he does now.

He doesn't need them. He gets the youth vote, the independents and he'll get the anti-adventurist democrats.
If Palin wants to get involved the time to do it is now with an endorsement.
After he gets the nomination without her help she's more baggage than she's worth.

The problem is that he just finished 3rd in Iowa and a second or third place finish in the upcoming races will probably be the norm. That simply is not enough votes to give him the nomination over Romney. If your thinking there is going to be a big groundswell of support for him than that's fine but right now the polling data doesn't show that.

He needs something to give him a boost. Some generic general won't give him that.

Maybe Obama will endorse him. They have a mutual misunderstanding of foreign policy.
How's this for a tactic; Obama resigns prior to the 2012 election; Paul chooses Obama as his running mate; Together they can completely destroy the U.S. military and fulfill Iran's quest for nuclear weapons and total domination of the Mid-East. Then, providing Paul can hang in for 8 years, during that time they can change the constitution (there's bound to be a Senate recess at some point in 8 years) that will allow for Obama to run again. If they can't pull that off, Michelle could run.
