I'm truly amazed by this game, I lack the words. Soo much detail, so many ideas, it's a whole other world. I know the graphics and AI isn't the best but take into account when it was made. ah.. I mean seriously, just read all topics, all books and everything and you'll see what amazing detail they've put into the background story, the main story, how everything fits together, how they've created their own universe. it's amazing simply.

Although, if they would only have more dynamic cities such as the ones in assassin's creed, with masses of random non-essential people moving around. I mean look at vivec, it's just a few guards strolling about and it's supposed to be the biggest city in the east. AND, racism! yes that's right, racism. Racism makes the game feel much more alive and realistic. When the dunmer (love that btw, that they invented several new languages!!!!! omg omg) are all racist, but it should be more of that imho. and crime, like the random bandit strikes in AC. there should be khajiit ghettos where they attack you if you wander alone and make racist remarks etc.

OH, and the guards should be ruder, much ruder. Like the guards in half life 2 in the beginning, if you look poor atleast. If you're rich they should be a little scared of you. But you know, push you away if you come to close, beat you up if you're annoying, shake you down (they did something like that with the entrance in riften in skyrim but that's not enough), corrupt guards.

I would have an unending nerdgasm if that was included in an elder scrolls game. Although, I hope they don't go the way warcraft's gone now that it's supposed to be some online thing, i prefer single. But basically, they need more scale (skyrim has WAY to few people) and realism.

Now worship the almsivi or else, n'wah!

I haven't played this one before, but I've played Oblivion and Skyrim. I found both to be incredibly rich and diverse worlds. My only real complaints with either of those games is that they didn't last forever.

Not long ago I read about a group that was redoing Morrorwind in the Skyrim engine. Can't remember where for the life of me or I'd link it for you.

Morrowind is definitively worth playing imho. If you dont mind the older engine and graphics but are intrested in the detail, story and depth that is. Id even go as far as saying that it beats oblivion overall despite the grapics. Skyrim has much detail also, but not quite as much as morroqind. And yes, i agree with that complaint. But on the other hand, one ought to appriciate all the detail in the quests.

And yes, theres always conversion mods but its also always very messy. They have to get voices to tje dialogues, whicj is only text in morrowind, among other things. But i have skyrim so why not try.

If youre thinking of trying morrowind i reccomend playing witj the full base game witj all expandions, all free add ons, the unofficial patcj, the code patch, and morrowind graphics extender. Just fixes things left by bethesda and enhancws graphica

The only reason I couldn't get into Morrowind was the consistently annoying "swing and a miss" game play that plagued the early hours of the game. You could even fail at harvesting a plant. How do you fail at that!? Thankfully that was removed in Oblivion and Skyrim but I'm convinced if they rereleased Morrowind with that being the only change(and maybe cliff racers)then it would inarguably be the best in the series.

see it as an abstraction. if you're skilled with long blades is how you swing it that matters, and this 'miss' thing represents hat you swung like a noob and your opponent blocket it. In skyrim and oblivion you always hit which is not as good imho, because then you get more damage with higher skill. But does a mace to the head hurt less if it's swung by a noob? no, not really. skill should be the chance to hit, strength should be the damage imho.

and how can you hate the cliff racers?! [IMG]

Morrowind was my intro into The Elder Scrolls. To this day one of the best games that I have ever played. I got all nostalgic with the recent Skyrim addon that was a throwback to the old Morrowind days. I am kind of hoping that the next Elder Scrolls revisits Morrowind. Heck, I am kicking around getting Morrowind and all the addons on Steam... been ages since I last played them.

Indeed, but there were such kool things that you could do in Morrowind but not Oblivion or Skyrim like... make rings that give you perpetually regenerating stamina and health, the ability to fly, walk on water, be invisible... etc.

With that said, Skyrim is my favorite Elder Scrolls game.

do it, get them. I've started playing on some old saves I had, really fun. But get the code patch, MPP, and MGE also, bug fixes and graphics enhancements. It's kinda annoying to have the game freeze once you meet some dark brotherhood guy in tribunal, it fixes that, among other things.
