Even Obama did not get a majority of voters. In 2008 his best year out of 320 million people, he only got Popular vote‎: ‎69,498,516

Look at states. That is all that matters. That accounts for why she lost and Trump won.

The EC is very valid.

Suppose we erased all state borders so the nation was totally different rather than 50 governments. Then popular would matter.

For instance, when I vote, I only get to vote for the CA Governor office and not Oregon's or Washington or Nevada and on and on.

Your system requires all states to give up government and have a huge government for every state as opposed to 50 governments.

To me, a state for Hillary is that state's government for her.

No it includes areas less densely populated. People deserve to have their votes count even if their area is not as packed with people as Manhattan.

 

People are individuals but their vote is to support just their state and not all other states.

 

The founders gave us the EC. But were they of evil intent? Given it is not a person whose vote matters most, but the state vote that matters, ergo the EC, all they need do to get it is to tabulate each state like a separate government. Winner takes most states and the EC does to a degree adjust the state vote power.

 

The one an only one reason I can lift my head up and not just walk around with my head down in total shame is that the bulk of my fellow citizens did not vote to put the clown into the white house.

Of course the very fact that our republicans members of congress are not for the most part honoring their oaths to the constitution an are instead pretending that Trump is just another president is also shameful.

Nobody disputes every vote should count. But people in wide open scarcely populated states votes are more heavily weighted than populated states. This has led to the detriment of the country, a president serving in office thst was soundly rejected by the American people.
