The Amazing Atheist sums up the feminist movement quite nicely. Note how he points out the fact that yes, things are not equal. But feminists ignore this inequality: I do not see feminists clamoring to reduce the child custody rate of women to match that of men. You know, for the sake of equality. I do not see feminists clamoring to reduce the number of homeless men and increase the number of men's shelters. You know, for the sake of equality. I do not see feminists clamoring to include women in the selective service/draft. You know, for the sake of equality. I do not see feminists clamoring to hold women to the current physical standards of the military. You know, for the sake of equality. I do not see feminists clamoring to hold women to the current physical standards of the fire service. You know, for the sake of equality. I do not see feminists clamoring to hold women to the same legal standard as men (women typically serve 40% shorter prison sentences than men). Feminism is pretty much an all whites club pretending to be concerned with equal rights of racial minorities.
And the leaders of the movement selective decide who is to be protected and who isn't. Why don't they protest against the genital mutilation, rape, and slavery of millions of girls and women in Muslin societies?
Among THE most Rightwing Women....are women who epitomize those things that Rightwing Men criticize of feminism Ann Coulter....now in her 50s, never married, no children, numerous relationships with men, focused entirely on her career. Laura Ingraham......40s, never married, has children without having a father for them (How many times do we hear "Feminists push single motherhood, refuse to admit children need a male role model in their lives!!!!").....and Ingraham is not a "stay-at-home" mom...but works outside the home. Sarah Palin......ran for Vice-President and WAS Governor of Alaska, while having not just children but SMALL children at home. Again, "having it all"....another attack on feminism. And yet, none of those three women are attacked or even criticized as "feminists"....why not?
Uh...I'm not, 'rightwing,' I'm an egalitarean. I believe inequalities are wrong when those inequalities are a result of discrimination regardless of ones gender or race. I'm not a feminist because I'm, 'rightwing.' I'm not a feminist because I believe in equality.
Probably because they do not (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and play the "I'm a woman!1111" victim card in every conversation.
