Now, this is just a theory. This could happen to American if it stays like this (Democracy and promotion of competition). Once the boarders will open, America will become the most competitive place on earth. America will once again become international. Only the strongest will survive, and those who cannot make it or can't afford to stay in America will have move to a different continent because the life there would be cheaper and less competitive. For example Afro-Americans in the future could find themselves leaving America back to Africa. Another example, Hispanics in Los Angeles will have 2 choices, either compete with the international surge or surrender the mining field. In Los Angeles Hispanics and Internationals are already competing. From taxi jobs to house cleaning services. This is only the beginning. Comments?
I guess I'm unclear on what you are arguing. Are you saying if the US opens it's borders, to something like a anyone-can-come-in policy, America will... what, become more competitive?
Yes, international. Compton once again can become a rich city, because the competition will drive the poorer people farther away from Los Angeles and the poorer people might have to go to work in Los Angeles by flying in with drones or by bullet trains.
Globally we're heading for a future of have and have nots, borders are closing, wealthy countries are becoming more and more difficult to migrate to as they move the bar higher and higher. Rich countries will have welfare to stop the poor from rioting, outside their borders will be desperation, water and food scarcity. No one is going to open the borders least of all America. The US will never again be competitive ito manufacturing, however there's still room for science, technology & innovation as well as obviously Weapons and Entertainment, I believe their two largest export industries.
