Not unlike a sinner taking off and justifying sin. Paul could have just demanded Onesimus, he had that authority over Philemon. So is Paul's plea for a lowly slave an example of Jesus's plea for redeemed sinners? Yup.

The same thoughts I have about most posts trying to explain/defend Christianity. It makes absolutely no sense. The all powerful creator of the universe has taken an unnatural interest in the activities or a group of primates living on an unremarkable planet orbiting an unremarkable star in an unremarkable part of an unremarkable galaxy. This creator's ego is so fragile that he has set up a system of punishment if any of creatures should defy him they will spend eternity being tortured. Thousands of years after setting up this system he decides it's too cruel. But instead of doing away with the system he impregnates one of the creatures with a version of himself so that he may sacrifice that version of himself to himself in order to spare those creatures from a punishment he instituted in the first place. Oh yeah and this creator, for whatever reason, is very concerned with what I do with my pee pee. Makes PERFECT sense.
