And there are still idiots who claim that OUR actions in the middle east caused or exaggerated their growth. In 1952 while living in India they were just like that, even to the point of slaughtering different sects of Islam. They are the fanatic Muslim (who do not follow the tenets of the Koran) just like the fanatics who claim Christianity (who do not follow the tenets of Christ). People who don't follow the tenets of their religion, ie menu religious are not what they claim to be.
When not taking into into consideration that it is but a minor number of Muslims who are violently violating their own religion, just like there is but a minor number of "Christians" who violate Christian tenets, are not following their religion. Over all, Islam is about as peaceful as Christianity.
How many people have Christians slaughtered in the name of Christianity lately? The pope is sympathetic to gays, Muslims not so much. Same thing with women. But the big thing is that most Christians get their direction from one source, the Vatican, while Muslims get their direction from a book and worldwide it's being interpreted as advocating violence.
Overall Islam is not all violent by any means but this claim here is absurd. You wonder why people feel compelled to put out such bunk.
What exactly makes a murderous madman in charge of an illegal state at war with nearly a hundred million Muslims a credible authority on Islam?
The religion of Islam is based on strict adherence to sharia law & despite how they achieve that, the end goal is pretty clear. The idea that there are this massive number of Islam followers who are "moderate or peaceful" hasn't yet manifest itself. I have yet to witness any form of massive condemnation toward those committing atrocities around the globe in name of Allah while swearing allegiance to Islam. You might want to consider that.
