The Left already tried this by gaining total ideological control and political loyalty of the vast mass of the nation's mainstream media and yet the Right is still EASILY busting the leftist-allied MSM's chops and thwarting the corrupt to the core political machinations of the DNC as a matter of course. All that would happen were these other leftist outlets to officially become what everyone already know that they really are, is that the Right would open up their own massively profitable and popular alternative communication vehicles. The collective Left would continue their trend toward ideological in-breeding.

You mean, convenient. If you don't agree with it, it's automatically anti science and facts.

Nah by doing that you’ll likely get the reverse effect. It’ll be like a forbidden fruit, a counter culture. Shutting down debate is never the way to go. If your ideas are better why worry about others ideas?

For all this talk about how Trump is a Nazi your idea sounds like a modern version of this:

The Nazi book burnings were a campaign conducted by the German Student Union (the "DSt") to ceremonially burn books in Nazi Germany and Austria in the 1930s. The books targeted for burning were those viewed as being subversive or as representing ideologies opposed to Nazism. These included books written by Jewish, pacifist, religious, classical liberal, anarchist, socialist, and communist authors, among others.[

The only real way to do that is for your ideas to be better than theirs. You’d create more followers and or more fervent followers by doing what you are suggesting imo

“The unifying factor between all types of purposeful book-burners in the 20th century, Knuth says, is that the perpetrators feel like victims, even if they’re the ones in power. Perhaps the most infamous book burnings were those staged by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, who regularly employed language framing themselves as the victims of Jews. Similarly, when Mao Zedong took power in China and implemented the Cultural Revolution, any book that didn’t conform to party propaganda, like those promoting capitalism or other dangerous ideas, were destroyed. More recently, the Jaffna Public Library of Sri Lanka—home to nearly 100,000 rare books of Tamil history and literature—was burned by Sinhalese Buddhists. The Sinhalese felt their Buddhist beliefs were under threat by the Hinduism of Tamils, even though they outnumbered the Tamils.”

Someone explain how what op is proposing is different. I’m aware that they are different mediums of information but how is the concept any different?

Well, HE certainly thinks that his side needs to censor his opposition. HE certainly thinks that in order to implement his side's agenda, that his opposition cannot be allowed to be heard. I agree, it's one person's silly idea, and it doesn't reflect on every single lefty. But a significant number of them are full-on bigots against the right as to assume that they would support such a thing as the OP suggests.

Neither side should ever be silenced. It’s good to see different viewpoints...that goes for the good and the idiotic ones.

It was created by the MILITARY. Can you prove that the inventors of TCP/IP (Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf) or inventor of the worldwide web (Tim Berners-Lee) were liberals? The people who did all the heavy lifting in creating the internet didn't get rich off their inventions, the people who built on their brilliance did. The internet was created in a different era by people who overall were MUCH MUCH more conservative than most people today.

Regarding your authoritarian streak-as was stated earlier both the Nazis and the Communists both immediately silenced the press of their opponents. This is a necessary step to take when you are about to engage in mass murder. The question I have for you is, do you want to silence the right so that they can be oppressed without anybody noticing? The other question is why in the hell do you live in the West? There are plenty of authoritarian states around the world for you to choose from. Why do choose to live in a free country and attempt to subvert its freedoms?

I realize that these are private companies but they have a mandate that they are NOT information providers..... they get protection from lawsuits because of this mandate. Because they are not responsible for the information, they cannot curate legal speech.... if they do, then they become eligible for lawsuits.

No, "the internet" was not created by "the left". It was created by private businesses who invested massive amounts of capital into building telecommunications networks.
