The self-proclaimed Islamic State, formerly known by the acronym ISIS, is actively recruiting Western women and girls. And in the process this “caliphate” that now occupies large swathes of Syria and Iraq is showing, once again, that it’s almost as shrewd with social media as it is ruthless on the battlefield. The tweets and blogs apparently are written by Western women married to jihadi warriors. They aim to persuade would-be “sisters” in Europe and the United States to travel to the Middle East to help this al-Qaeda spinoff build its extremist vision of an Islamic society.

Potential caliph-ettes (as one is tempted to call them) are told their main contribution to the Islamic revolution will be through matrimony, not martyrdom; child-bearing, not gun-toting. One blogger called “Bird of Jannah” purrs: “Women are not equal to men. It can never be. Men are the leaders & women are [so] special that Allah has given them entire chapter in the Qur’an.” Instead, the marketing focuses on what one analyst calls the “private sphere,” concentrating on the joys of jihadist family life and the “honor” of raising new fighters for Islam. The online recruiters stress the pleasure of providing the domesticity that a warrior waging jihad needs and by doing so serving Islam.....snip~

Well now.....aren't they trying to take a page out of the 22nd Century. A lot of European women, huh? What say ye?

They also captured Christian women by the hundreds. But isn't funny that now the MS media wants to jump on this with all that is taking place. Bringing up a lot of what has been going on for the last couple of weeks. They need to take these guys out ASAP.

Iraq official: Militants hold 100s of Yazidi women......

Hundreds of women from the Yazidi religious minority have been taken captive by Sunni militants with "vicious plans," an Iraqi official said Friday, further underscoring the dire plight of Iraq's minorities at the hands of the Islamic State group. Kamil Amin, the spokesman for Iraq's Human Rights Ministry, said hundreds of Yazidi women below the age of 35 are being held in schools in Iraq's second largest city, Mosul. He said the ministry learned of the captives from their families.

"We think that the terrorists by now consider them slaves and they have vicious plans for them," Amin told The Associated Press. "We think that these women are going to be used in demeaning ways by those terrorists to satisfy their animalistic urges in a way that contradicts all the human and Islamic values."

The U.S. has confirmed that the Islamic State group has kidnapped and imprisoned Yazidi women so that they can be sold or married off to extremist fighters, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the information came from classified intelligence reports. There was no solid estimate of the number of women victimized, the official said.....snip~

Yes Margot, they consider what ISIL has control over to be a large area.....yet what does that have to do with them trying to trick Western Women in joining them?

I doubt Christian women can be recruited......but now what about those that would adopt their Religion or those who have none.

I think All should be messing with these Terrorists over Social Media.....I think I can incite many of them to internally combust Right then and there. Not ever even having to leave their hovel.

Were you thinking that was a small swath of Iraq and Syria instead? Does a small swath make it acceptable in your view?

    Doesn't it?
You wouldn't be trying to minimize the importance of what's happening over there for some reason would you?

Just because some rabid thug declares a Caliphate doesn't mean there is one.. I have lived a long time and I have seen this crap before.

No Caliphate has occupied and controlled this amount of land since the 1920s. You've never seen it before.

Well, let me indulge in humor, since I keep on finding it very difficult to take the "Caliph" seriously.

In my opinion we could react with a wide campaign of internet activity by our notorious cyber agencies [overall the US one, with the huge car parking ...].

Are they looking for women? No problem ... let's inundate them with messages of transgender individuals [phony identities created just to do this] wishing to have a homosexual relation with real Arab warriors [worshipers :worship: of the Caliph].

I wonder about their reaction to such offers [!]

Yeah I have.. The Sharif of Mecca.. a Hashemeite declared himself Caliph in 1924.. Hahaha .. and was chased off the Arabian Peninsula two weeks later...

In 1950 the NYT ran articles about who would be the NEW Caliph.. What a joke..

Well, either you are over 90 years old or full of (*)(*)(*)(*). And in those two weeks he didn't control any territory, so not sure of the relevance of your point. Just as Abu Umar al-Baghdadi's claim in 2006 of the creation of the Islamic State of Iraq with he as the Caliph was meaningless as he was surrounded by US troops and didn't really control any territory. ISIS controls a LARGE swath of Iraq and Syria. Because the governments of Iraq or Syria certainly don't control it. The Sharif didn't make a million dollars a day selling $30/barrel oil on the black market. ISIS does.

Militant Muslims Using Social Media to Recruit Jihadists for ISIS.....

Like anything in life, social media, in the hands of the wrong people, has the potential to do nothing but spread unthinkable evil. Such is the case with the use of Twitter and Facebook by militants to recruit jihadists for ISIS.

    Via CNS News:
Militant Muslims are using social media to recruit jihadists in India on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), also know as the Islamic State (IS).

Al Isabah Media also posted the video to their Facebook account, which has 2,866 likes.

The recruitment video was also tweeted out by the “Al-Battar Media Foundation” which is “dedicated to spreading the #NEWS of the #Islamic_State\#IS to the #English speaking audience.” .....snip~
