The college-trained progressives in Joe Biden’s White House are creating a bipartisan revolt by ordinary, middle-class Americans, says Joel Kotkin, a left-of-center California demographer who has long been critical of Silicon Valley’s political demands.

“A specter is haunting America, a great revolt that threatens to dwarf the noxious rebellion led by Trump … a new middle-class rebellion against the excesses of the Left,” Kotkin says in a June 4 article for Newsweek.

    He continues:

This new middle-class rebellion is being bolstered by a wide-ranging intellectual rebellion by traditional liberals against the Left’s dogmatism and intolerance. Indeed, what we’re about to see has the potential to reprise the great shift among old liberals that had them embracing Reagan in reaction to the Left’s excesses of that generation.

Biden’s policies on race, housing, hiring, “equity,” and crime are deeply unpopular among many Americans, whether white, black, or Latino, he argues. Biden is similarly losing the middle class on immigration,” he wrote.

He said the Democrats’ education, anti-patriotism, crime, energy, and jobs policies are also harmful to many ordinary Americans:

Major pushback on how the progressive Left sees American history is also brewing. Americans by and large remain patriotic, including the poor and working class. This patriotism stands in stark contrast to the prevailing view among progressives, which casts America as the intrinsically and irredeemably evil spawn of slaveholders and racists…..

we can bet that if this liberal writer can see this that it’s likely worse for Biden and Democrats than even he is saying. The middle and working class don’t take kindly to loss of blue collar jobs. Nor to having their kids given propaganda and calling it education and history. We are also intensely patriotic and love our exceptional nation and our history, culture, and traditions. The bi coastal urban secular progressive elites think otherwise.

What do you know about him? Had you ever heard of him before this article?

Trump was the one that issued the guidelines to the States to shut down and when to reopen, which States have met Trump's reopen guidelines?

1st I didn't say across the board. According to a variety sources the lower your income the bigger the increase you got on average. This is significant because it shows two process at work 1st is rising labor demand at lower socioeconomic levels along with a reduction in workers available to fill those positions, via the tightening of our southern border. The second more money in the private sector means more money available to spend on labor among other things.

You note Biden's big success at G8 was to peg corporate minimum tax at 15% which pretty much means that is where corporate taxes every where will wind up. Only in the US for we find politicians stupid enough to believe that you can tax
they weren't Trump's guidelines they were the CDC. And then of course they were extended in blue states well beyond what was necessary. And they were guide lines not laws. Blue state governors made them laws.

Trump is certainly a ''Minister of Propaganda''

There are plenty of examples, and here's one

    Trump/Guthrie Townhall Transcript;

    Savannah Guthrie: (20:20)
Just this week, you retweeted to your 87 million followers, a conspiracy theory that Joe Biden orchestrated to have SEAL Team Six, the Navy SEAL Team Six, killed to cover up the fake death of Bin Laden. Now, why would you send a lie like that to your followers?

    President Trump: (20:35)
I know nothing about it, can I -

    Savannah Guthrie: (20:35)
    You retweeted it

    President Trump: (20:38)
That was a retweet. That was an opinion of somebody-

    Savannah Guthrie: (20:40)
    But-

    President Trump: (20:41)
…. and that was a retweet. I’ll put it out there. People can decide for themselves. I don’t take a position

I'll put it out there, and People can decide for themselves. I don't take a position

Famed Navy SEAL pushes back after Trump amplifies baseless bin Laden conspiracy theory

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...s-baseless-bin-laden-conspiracy-theory-429428

    --------------------------

QUESTION: Why Trump tweeted. and then re-tweeted said ridiculous conspiracy theory?

ANSWER: Because he knew that a least 25% of his Base were conspiracy theorists/QAnonists, thus, in an effort to defend/satisfy/solidify his Base, and at the same time, ''wash he hands'', meaning; ''I'll put it out there, and People can decide for themselves. I don't take a position''

IMO, anyone who believe in said conspiracy theory should book several sessions with a psychiatrist.

After the tax rate cut, the tax revenue went up. How is that possible if there was no rise in salary?

No, it really did not. The first 12 months after the tax cuts went into effect tax revenue was down. Something that only happens about 5% of the time in the US.

Revenue is almost always rising due to the ever growing number of people working.

If you wish to see the impact of a tax cut you have to look at the rate of growth of the tax revenue before and after the tax cuts

Yes, there is. Hold on to your irony meter, and guess how one enters the middle class.

By graduating from college. The OP is all mixed up. It should say working class, not middle class.

As far as the working class is concerned, Biden has already done more than the last 6 presidents combined.

    The OP is out there.

The first step in figuring out why nominal revenue increased after Trump's tax cuts isn't mathematical, it's rational thinking.

usually when politicians talk about "the middle class" they really mean the working class. a doctor with practice or an atty with partnership are middle class. employees who must clock in, whatever their salary and education, are not.

a college degree (not a fraternity rush and drop out after football season) is necessary for acceptance as middle class, but is not sufficient.

Yep, and the irony is found in the first 3 words of the OP.
