My 1982 Honda Accord drove under it's own power to the junkyard with 307,000 miles on the original motor. My ex wife traded her 1993 Accord EX Coupe with 245,000 miles on it in on a Tundra in 2004. My Current 1992 Accord LX Wagon has 149,000 miles on it.

My little 94 Cav is at 218K right now, 4 banger auto. Paid $700 a little over a year ago_Only cost above routine maintenance has been the left multi function switch and a right front hub/bearing combo.

I owned a 2005 Dodge GC up to a few days ago and if you read Consumer Reports, they didn't recommend the Dodge or Chrysler mini vans even up to the new ones. But in 8 1/2 years, I only replaced the windshield washer container that got cracked by a stone and the wire broke holding down the back legs on the last row stow able seat into the floor when that seat was stowed. Worked fine when seat was up.

Anyway that experience helped me buy a new 2013 Chrysler Town and Country.mini van. Well it was more than that.I also bought an extended warranty that gives me bumper to bumper coverage for life. That means as long as I own that minivan, they will fix everything but wear items like belts, hoses, tires, break shoes, etc. It also gives you life time roadside coverage, Trip delay coverage. Along with that they will fix dents up to 4" for life.

It was a manager's special with 3,000 miles on it. But they knocked off $8,000.00 and I got it for $28,000.00. About the same as what my old 2005 Dodge GC cost me.($27,449.00) My God what a difference between the two. It has the deluxe console, blind spot and cross path detection. Park Sense, rear park assist, rain sensitive wipers, auto dim head lights, tire pressure monitoring sensor, double security alarms,Sirus radio, Unconnect430 CD/DVD/Mp3/HDD, 40 gig hard drive, keyless entry with immobilizer, automatic high beam control, Uconnect Voice Command with Blue Tooth, fuel optimizer calibration, remote start, side roll down curtains, Park View rear backup camera, tilt/telescoping steering column, 3zone automatic A/C, steering wheel mount audio controls, leather seats, dual electric front seats with lumbar control for driver, power flash light, Two 12 volt and one 115 volt plugs, plus all the things that come with all Dodge/Chrysler minivans. It has a beautiful grey and beige interior, with ambient lighting along the ceiling and two glove boxes. Not to forget the stow and go feature, which is what made me buy my first mini van..

I got so much more than I ever got on my 2005 Dodge GC for almost the same price. Love the deluxe console, so much storage in it. With that life time warranty, I'll be keeping this mini van for many, many years.

Bought a new Scion Xd in 2008. Tried out the Honda Fit but there was no place to rest my left foot. Because of the seat height, it's easy to get in and out of the car, which is helpful if you are a senior. The rearview mirror blocks the view a bit, especially when making a right turn.

Apart from routine maintenance, I've only had to replace the battery and tires. Because I mostly make short trips around town, I only get 24 mpg, but I have recorded 37 mpg on long trips. I'm 5'11" and have enough leg room.

I bought a brand new Nissan Frontier pickup in 2003. Manual tranny w/ Desert Runner package (2x4 but 4x4 suspension and clearance). I ran up and down the West Coast sales job--literally LA to Seatlte once a month. On weekends, I would use it for its intended purpose and run the jeep trails in Arizona and the California desert and pretty much beat the crap out of it. I only got rid of it last year with 354,000 miles on it. Synthetic oil every 5,000 miles. I went through six sets of tires, four clutches, three batteries, and god knows how many brake pads. But that thing was still solid when I sold it for $1000 to a kid down the street, and I literally had no major mechanical problems with it at all. Built in Tennessee by non-union American workers. Damn fine vehicle.

I had it replaced because the dealer, where I had it serviced, said it was running low.

I think someone saw the "Cars" movies too many times. Might as well paint a smiley face on it.

I've been driving jeeps since 1980 and will most likely continue for the remainder of my life. They've always been dependable and while not always the most comfortable, they've made great improvements over the years in comfort and the heating systems. Go with a jeep that comes with an engine block heater and winch and you'll never get stuck. :)
