I may add to it, but I was thinking, as someone who is liberal on some issues and conservative on others, "What makes a true American", and I think one major thing is this: Can you listen to someone say something you totally, vehemently disagree with, but still be willing to die to defend their right to say it? I wish Freedom of Speech is one thing we could all agree on. The statists who comprise the Religious Fundamentalist Wing of the Religious Right and the Far Left wing thought police have one thing in common, neither side understands that freedom is a 2 way street. Just one man's opinion, what do you think?
I was raised Southern Baptist, am familiar with such concepts as immaculate conception, the signifigance of The Torah, I have great respect for religious people, so long as they don't attempt to legislate their beliefs into law, aka Gay Marriage, marijauna prohibition... If I may ask, what is your stance on marijuana prohibition? I only ask because I have a verse from Genesis, the Alpha of the Bible, which may blow your mind
I agree with you, but to be fair, one could find other arguments for restricting those things, and banning certain kinds of behavior really doesn't fall under FOS anyway.

Absolutely NOT. I will not die to allow someone to speak. Any speaking. I will fight afterwards. And Free speech, is non intrusion from government. say hateful things, get boycotted. Noone stopped you from saying it.
First southern Baptists are a relatively small portion of Christianity today, and a lot of others within the Christian realm think they are doctrinally flawed. 2nd grass, been there done that. I fail to see the raison d'être behind it. Reducing your IQ by fifty points temporarily strikes me as a fairly pointless endeavor. On the other hand there are better uses for jail space than stoners. 3rd I am against gay marriage because encouraging people to remain in bondage to sin is counter productive to their well being and society.
