I know most of you radical Libertarian Republicans love the fact that your kind has officially hijacked the Republican party. You know that your ideas don't sell so you have to take over a political party that doesn't belong to you. This is the reason for the political gridlock in Washington. The purpose of a "two party" system is so that both parties can get together and meet in the CENTER. But since we have one side that's too far to the right, meeting in the center is IMPOSSIBLE. I'm not a huge supporter of John McCain but I commend him for standing up to the radicals who have taken over HIS PARTY. Karl Rove and the rest of the "reasonable" Republicans need to band together and declare war on these Libertarian hijackers. They need to run a huge ad campaign that educates the American public on what these people are doing to this country. Otherwise, we're going to end up with a House, Senate and presidency that are all Democrat. The success of this country will always be in the center. Not the left or hard-right.

Yes. And that war is beginning now. America is about to kick out the 'crazy' out of office.

The Democrats of today are much more left wing than they have ever been before. Why aren't you recommending they go to the center?

John McCain is a failed Presidential candidate because of his wishy-washiness. Had he been firm in his beliefs and fought for them, Obama wouldn't have become President. The problem is not lack of moderation. The problem is not standing for anything besides tax cuts.

ALL of the mistakes of the past 100 years have been from the Left AND the "Center" working together.

There is no true "left," there is no "right," and any statement to the contrary is the pursuit of obfuscation by your masters.

There is Freedom, or there is Subjugation - and then there's whatever is in between.

How idiotic. The gop is a coalition party and you're just not bright enough to realize it. Again, no surprice Johnny-C doesn't comprehend it either.

A "coalition" party? You must be living in the 80's or something. Turn on your television set today and you'll see radicals like Rand Paul taking center stage. Or at least trying to. You'll also see old school Republicans like John McCain getting shoved to the side.

The libertarians are taking over the GOP? I thought that was just wishful thinking. I wish them luck, and hopefully this will lead to the democrats not being in office for the next 50-200 years.

So because the Rand paul is getting more media attention, you think that disproves that the party is a coalition of largely different worldviews?

    Sorry, can't take you seriously.

I think it's their social side that makes them more radical. Lefties don't like their fiscal policy because it simply goes away from the more socialistic ideas that the left has.

I hate to say it but you are just flat out ridiculously and extremely biased to your party.

Both sides have gone further to the left and right. You just like McCain for example because he is one of the more left leaning righties.

Yet another topic of "My side is good, yours is evil."

This forum is going even more downhill....

I'm sorry, are you new here? Like new to this country? What's with all this nonsense about blaming the Republicans for being too far right? Are you completely blind to how far left the Democratic party is today? By modern Democrat standards, JFK would be a right wing extremist. The Democrats of today are full-on marxists. The left wing fringe is now the mainstream within the Democratic party. So if you want to fault people for not being able to meet in the middle, you need to point the finger at the people who are truly responsible. And they're not all on the right. In fact, the only reason you even see people that aren't willing to compromise on the right anymore is because they're sick of these stubborn leftists whose idea of "compromise" is that the right gives up everything and they, themselves, give up nothing.

What is so radical about wanting to cut government and its spending down to a reasonable level?

What's so radical about wanting to cut spending in the middle of a recession? Or how about allowing companies to outsource labor to any country with virtually no tariffs in place? Or bringing taxes down so low that all of the wealth in this country would shift to the top? Or getting rid of Social Security completely which would force people to stay in the workforce until they're 90. The list goes on and on.

"What's so radical about wanting to cut spending in the middle of a recession?"

    Taxcutter says:
Why not? Keynes has been discredited.

Really? Explain because I don't see it. Marxists are completely against capitalism.

As are modern Democrats. Have you just not heard all the wealth redistribution and "fair share" and "wealthiest 1%" nonsense they've been spouting for the last 5 years? I don't know how you could have escaped it. It's been everywhere. And you've been on this forum for awhile, so I know you've seen it talked about on here. And that's just economics. Culturally, these people are 100% divorced from American values. They are openly culturally marxist.

    - - - Updated - - -

Responsible living and individual liberty are radical concepts to left wing extremists. They get in the way of totalitarian utopianism.

A desire for an increase in wealth distribution doesn't mean that you're a Socialist or a Marxist. If the Democrats were either of those it would be IMPOSSIBLE for almost every single business to exist in the United States. What most people want is a living wage, less outsourcing and a safety net for when times get hard. This way they can pull themselves up by the bootstraps and achieve success.

It's hard because the GOP has many different viewpoints. Democrats are pretty much all the same from an ideology standpoint.

Wealth distribution is not the same thing as wealth re-distribution. The former is a desired result from the free market that is not realistic. The latter is the active involvement of government intervention to try to make the former happen unnaturally. And it does ruin businesses. That's what the left today is all about. And they're royally (*)(*)(*)(*)ing small business owners and entrepreneurs because they're so greedy about picking the pockets of corporate CEOs.

A "living wage" is a natural result of the government (*)(*)(*)(*)ing off and letting the free market operate. It also provides incentives for businesses to keep their jobs here rather than outsourcing. Government intervention is precisely what causes outsourcing in the first place. So what these leftists are doing is creating a problem with too much government intervention and then trying to solve that problem by using even more government intervention. They are creating a need for their own services, and continuously expanding that need more and more. And the more they expand the government, the more regular people like you and me end up getting (*)(*)(*)(*)ed in the process.

These people are pinkos. They're not even capitalists anymore.

So what are you suggesting? That employers should be able to pay their employees $2 an hour? And if I can get labor for pennies on the dollar in Mexico, why would I keep my jobs here? You can't compete no matter what you do.

The average consumer is the bread and butter of the U.S. economy. When that person isn't doing well the entire economy suffers. You're seeing the proof in our current economic situation. Both businesses and consumers are JOB CREATORS. Employers and employees build up companies TOGETHER. That's why Obama keeps on talking about a BALANCED APPROACH. You guys are one-sided because you believe that you don't need customers to build up a business. And you believe that a few investors with 50,000 employees BUILT THAT. Built what? Are you saying that their employees are robots? I believe that the CENTER is where success lies. Sorry but there's no place for Libertarian ideology in today's society.

The beauty of the free market is that the best companies win out. Competition is stronger, products are cheaper, and everyone benefits. The price of everything comes down when you stop regulating the hell out of everything. This is what regulatory fearmongers don't understand. The need to control the market comes from fear. And that fear is what drives prices up in the first place.

The price of everything? I'm talking about labor here. America can't compete with cheap overseas labor unless we're willing to allow our citizens to live off of $5 a day.

The same could be said for the democrats. Both parties cannibalize their moderates by forcing them into unpopular at home positions that will cost them their seat or hang them out to dry as the low fruit for the other side to pick off.

Of course you would. Last time we listened to Democrats who did we get for President? McCain and Romney. Sorry Chief we know you're feeding us losers. Pardon us if we do the exact opposite.
