The shallow "settled science" chants of the climate alarmists are underpinned by institutional repression designed to stifle dissent and keep it out of public discourse. That is of course a key component of the strategy to try to make the science appear settled. But, with Shakespeare, we can rest assured that eventually "the truth will out." Dissent cannot be silenced forever, especially when the data are its allies.

Climate Dissent You're Not Hearing About Because It's Muffled by Top Institutions

As the Biden administration and governments worldwide make massive commitments to rapidly decarbonize the global economy, the persistent effort to silence climate change skeptics is intensifying – and the critics keep pushing back.

This summer the International Monetary Fund summarily canceled a presentation by John Clauser, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who publicly disavows the existence of a climate “crisis.” The head of the nonprofit with which Clauser is affiliated, the CO2 Coalition, has said he and other members have been delisted from LinkedIn for their dissident views.

Meanwhile, a top academic journal retracted published research doubting a climate emergency after negative coverage in legacy media. The move was decried by another prominent climate dissenter, Roger Pielke Jr., as “one of the most egregious failures of scientific publishing that I have seen” – criticism muffled because the academic says he has been blocked on Twitter (now X) by reporters on the climate beat.

The climate dissenters are pressing their case as President Biden, United Nations officials, and climate action advocates in media and academia argue that the “settled science” demands a wholesale societal transformation. That means halving U.S. carbon emissions by 2035 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050 to stave off the “existential threat” of human-induced climate change.

In response last month, more than 1,600 scientists, among them two Nobel physics laureates, Clauser and Ivar Giaever of Norway, signed a declaration stating that there is no climate emergency, and that climate advocacy has devolved into mass hysteria. The skeptics say the radical transformation of entire societies is marching forth without a full debate, based on dubious scientific claims amplified by knee-jerk journalism. . . . .

I'm OK with acknowledging there is some sensationalized language in the media when it comes to climate change. That in no way changes the essential facts that.......man made climate change is real........the impact to the Earth's climate is becoming increasingly evident..........and we are not doing enough to combat what the future will hold.

Nonsense on both counts, and fine examples of the evidence-free tub-thumping enabled by repressing dissent.

I don’t deny that man does have an impact, but the sensationalism of it is only intended to line pockets and empower those who have no concern for the average joe as they pretend to have.

    Total ****ing bullshit.

Liberals are like fake psychics who make predictions in the National Enquirer. They only claim what can't be proven. Then they go one step further and claim they have proven it, which is total ****ing bullshit.

The earth has been through numerous cycles like this before. How do you know that man has changed it significantly?

I already control it. My left elbow hurts and a few hour later it rains. I could intentionally sprain my elbow and make it rain or I could take an aspirin to stop the rain. .

It is also a fact that global average temperature has increase 1 degree C overt the past 100 years. It is also a fact that there has been no temperature increase at all over the past 8 years. Yes climate change is real. No, it is not a crisis or even meaningful overall. Like most, you have fallen prey to government increasing power and control over the issue.

So for the last 100 plus years we've been told about all the terrible ways we're gonna die because of climate shift.

    None have come true.
    Not one.
    So you'll excuse our skepticism.

Show just one doomsday prediction that's been accurate and we can talk.

Neither event either proves or disproves that there is a long term threat from AGW, and as neither event is either unprecedented or of any greater severity than similar events decades ago and other factors are more than sufficient to explain both Shoving AGW in is silly.

Or........dismissing the severity of what is demonstrably happening is intended to line the pockets of legacy energy companies interested in protecting their profits at the expense of an existential threat.

That's just factually inaccurate. The evidence of climate change's impact grows daily.

You need to be more specific. The climate is changing as it has for the last billion years. The issue is whether man has a significant disastrous effect on climate change.

There will come a year in the near future when we have few floods, few forest fires, and few hurricanes -- then the climate controllers will have to admit that our climate swings back and forth and we have no control over it.

    I'm sure you believe that.

Here's an example of the hysterical media whipping people in to a frenzy.

Why climate change can't be blamed entirely for the Maui wildfires
    https://abcnews.go.com/US/climate-change-blamed-maui-wildfires/story?id=102255714

Maui fires not just due to climate change but a ‘compound disaster’

Yes, actually it is. Those are defensive propaganda stories trying to retrieve some role in Maui for climate change. In fact, the science is clear that climate change played no role in the disaster. That's what can't be admitted by the climate change tub-thumpers. Thanks for illustrating my point.

Yes, the United States will be economically destroyed while China, India, Russia and Iran do as they plead.

This is goal of progressives. Destroy the United States and make socialism international.

There is no goal. These are people who simply wish to destroy because they are miserable and feel that everybody else should join in.

This is what happens when you do not balance the intellectual with the spiritual. Your intellect will start your clockwise motion around the drain as soon as you decide you, "understand."

Leave the big stuff to the philosophers and concentrate on taking care of yourself and others who depend on you.
