I'm not talking about a Jeep. I'm talking about the point of no return. We are approaching it, if not already crossed it. How much further are we willing to be polarized in this country? Are we doomed to the end of the road for the US of A? Are our political and religious differences, let alone our racial ones, too deep to bridge? It sure looks that way.
The divide is getting worse and all of the candidates that we ultimately have to choose from and the other leaders that get elected do nothing but pour gasoline on the fire I think that the future is bleak
The 2 party system is broke. A 3rd party won't win. I just hope somewhere out there is a future leader that can actually bridge the divide. It won't happen in 2024, so it will be a long wait
So, in other words, without there being a perfect candidate (a perfect candidate for you), you will allow the madness to continue?
I am not understanding your point - what exactly can any of us who see the issue do? Biden, Trump, Clinton. I did not want any of those, but milllions did
What is better - getting kicked in the groin 20 times or 25 times? Both sides are bad, whether one side is less bad than the other is meaningless, the country suffers regardless Millions of people are voting for president based on being anti the other person, not because they like who they are voting for. That is not an ideal way to choose a leader
Not to worry. Stupid Xoe the pedo is a uniter remember? He’s gonna heal the divide among us that started with his buddy administration. And he’s gonna cure cancer to
This is the rot that I am talking about. You degrade quite a bit by using that word, which makes you part of the problem.
Thank you, that you very much. I try to put forth the same efforts that we see from the libs here in their hate for potus 45. I know I’m not as good as them but I try.
How about the extremes on both sides stop acting like a bunch of c**ts trying to force their way of life onto everyone else.
I’ve been trying to warn people that what we are seeing is what we saw before 1860. Everybody disagrees about everything and the political divide is so ingrained that it’s impossible to assuage the differences. This is also why I say that the civil war wasn’t about slavery. What happened then is the same as what’s happening now. If a war was started because the SCOTUS overturned Roe V Wade, the war wouldn’t be because one side wants to kill babies and the other doesn’t. The abortion issue would just be the straw that broke the camels back. Just like slavery was the straw that broke the camels back in 1859.
The rot sir is the failure of the left to recognize the destruction their ideas always carry in their wake. We are facing a clash of ideas and ideals in this country. And frankly the rulership of the national Democratic Party is now little more than a reinvention of the old pagan death cults where babies are sacrificed upon altar of the goddess of sexual pleasure.
So, if everybody just did things your way, it would work? Been seeing your posts for a long time. Bridging, compromise, reason- have never had a voice there. There is no point of no return here that can't be reversed. But so long as enough people are willing to behave like spoiled, irresponsible children, there will be no healing of the rift. The conservative base hasn't made any radical changes- but the liberal base has lost perspective, discarded long proven and respected values and abandoned reason. Bridging the gap requires people capable of reason, willing to recognize reality and truth, reject deception and retain the ability to conduct themselves in a civil manner. The democrats of JFK's period would be aghast at the conduct and mindset of today's collage of radicals and wackos associated with their party. Only in an atmosphere of order and civility with a mutual level of respect for the rights of both sides can fair compromise be reached. It can never result from bullying, from force, threats, abuse, tyranny, or incompetence with power. The failure to accept others with different opinions, and the failure to understand that your opinion does not entitle you to abuse those who think differently- insures you can't make anything work.
IMO, we have already passed it. Civil war is inevitable at this point. America will fall and disintegrate in the next 10-20 years. Maybe sooner.,
I don't think it will be a traditional "battle lines" type thing. It will be more like the Ireland of the 80's/90's. Bombings. Assassinations. Flashpoints of extreme politically motivated violence.
There's obvious evidence of what's going on in the nation, which can generally be described as deteriorating character and self-respect. Evidence of this is everywhere you look. Open you email. the large majority of it will be useless, and a good part of that will be scams. Messages telling you thanks for a purchase you didn't make, etc- all coming from addresses other than the supposed sender. People come up to you on the street, telling you their are in desperate need because their car broke down and their kids are starving, and will you give them $300. Your phone rings, and again- 90-95 of our calls are scams or telemarketers. Sometimes a voice says- "grandpa, I'm on a trip and I've been in an accident and need some money fast". They have no idea who you are, but know if they call enough random numbers they will hit paydirt every now and then. . People stand on the corner holding signs of desperation- lost my job, will work for food.... at the same intersection that has several businesses with Help Wanted of Now Hiring signs out. This is nothing that's been fostered by the conservative side of our politics, but by the liberal side. There's few things so stupid as to sink the ship when you are one of the people aboard it, but that is the mindset that is clearly indicated by the conduct. How bad does it have to get before people reject that stupidity and embrace civility and honorable conduct? That's the turning point. To get there- the scams must fail to the point that they simply don't pay- and that means being skeptical of all such things and zero tolerance for such abuse. And that of course must take place in government conduct as well as citizens- so long as we allow politicians to scam us, they will continue. Simple rule: You play by the rules- or you don't play at all. What we need is leadership with the balls to lay that policy down, and back it up. To get that, we need citizens who demand it, and will not settle for less.
