Ban member states central banks from using government debt as a reserve asset. If irresponsible governments still want to drive themselves into bankruptcy, at least then it would not threaten the euro. And get rid of the "freedom of movement" provissions between countries. Individual countries with more similar standards of living can work out their own treaties for free movement of people, independant of the EU. The freedom of movement has not resulted in what it was ostensibly intended. The main movement of people has been immigration from the much poorer countries to the countries with higher standards of living, resulting in overcrowding, depressed wages, and higher unemployment in the countries on the recieving end. The solution to the European Union's imminent problems are simple.
