This quote from De Toqueville completely describes the dangers of the "soft despotism" of Modern Progressive Thought: That is how Democrats rule America. They never ban you from doing something, they just tax it until you don't want it anymore. They never deny you a right, they simply make exercising that right so expensive and time consuming you stop trying. The above quote describes Modern Progressivism in it's most exacting detail. Progressives truly are nothing less than "soft despots"
Aren't you the one that keeps saying, "You can have the freedom that you can afford!" Sounds more like modern capitalism, to me.
So you advocate the soft despotism of the Left.. like Obamacare mandates or excessive regulation on fossil fuels, or excessive taxation on tobacco or other similar "hip pocket incentives"??
