This is something I wrote around 2006 after getting annoyed by people who had a faulty perspective about 9-11, USA and what could be next. It takes the form of a poll, but I have no desire to count results: it is not a poll. I was trying to make a point or two. I dredged this up as a response to a thread that I can not find (again)! The “Chechen-worst-terrorists” one. The title is inspired by Frederic Nietzsche's lamentation that our Species does not have a common goal. ------------------------------------------------------------ Does anyone recognize this picture? "My wife and I were very anxious, and my hands were shaking with joy because my little girl is going off to school," says Sergei Urmanov, an electrical engineer whose daughter, Zalina, was excited as she headed to the ceremony. Sergei was waiting just outside the school with his camera. "My daughter was coming out of school with her best friend," he says. "They were carrying a poster that said, 'First time to first grade,' and they had balloons in their hands, and I took their picture." While children gathered with their proud parents, a large truck pulled up to the entrance of Beslan School No. 1. It was approximately 9:20 in the morning. Heavily armed men and women with machine guns, assault rifles, hand grenades and at least half a dozen bombs and detonators, quickly entered the school through the door. Another group of terrorists ran along the side of the building, into a courtyard. ( ^) It's the hand of a victim of the Beslan School Massacre. The poll. Imagine that you live the U.S. of A. It was your country and citizens who lived through the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. (I can't believe I have to say this next bit.) You don't believe that anyone other than the well-known 19 murderous "Islamists" who were sent by other people of the same type to hijack and crash 4 planes which caused the destruction of the Twin Towers in NY and part of the Pentagon in Washington D.C. (If you have trouble with this, then ignore this thread and go fishing in a leaky boat in the middle of the ocean.) When is the next one for the U.S.? Never mind when, what is the next one? That is the poll. Which kind of horror would you choose? 1. Spectacular (9/11-type) 2. Wretched Abomination (Belsan-type: most or all of the children of a public school set to torturous siege and murdered horribly.) 3. Another (write-in) Well, ....go ahead and choose.
