Today (2-25-2020), DJIA futures are up a thumping hundred points after a 1031 point slide. Who knew or predicted the corona virus would threaten to wreck supply lines, shutter businesses, and create messes around the globe? WHO issued an advisory to prepare for a pandemic. Looking at the data in comparisons to other outbreaks, like SARS, this stuff is worse, much worse. So who knew? Well, pretty much nobody. What caused it? Astrological alignments? shifting of the magnetic poles? Trump? As far as I can determine, nobody seems to know. And we know how much markets love uncertainty. The moral of the story seems to be, "s**t happens." I feel much better now.
