What do these two events have in common? Actors who would become criminal actors engaged in violence to destroy and disturb public and private property and to invade property of the same. In the case of the Summer of Love, lawabiding citizens would find themselves in either hostile crowds or blocked streets while faced with violent intimidation.

The difference in the response is staggering. As the Summer of Love accumulated in a march to Washington DC, barricading on the gates of the White House. If you'll recall the situation was significant enough for then-POTUS Donald Trump to go into the bunker.

Despite the significance of the WH being targeted, what was the response of this government? Well, it was effectively nothing. Essentially the violent criminal mob was more than allowed to do their damage, save for the 'controversial' repellent use of gas at Fayette Square.

Just as this upset the President, it also upset me greatly in real time and as I always review this disastrous response or lackthereof by the government and by its military/protective brass. We can only conclude they did not think the WH worth protecting at that moment.

But the government didn't just fail to protect itself during the Summer of Love. More crucially, the aforementioned citizens would not be protected by their local or national governments. I recall the incident here in Philadelphia of ATM machines being blown up and several such incidences across the country.

While, yes, these groups finally calmed down the damage was done. The government gave the message that it was unwilling to respond to threats. That lack of a response, is a crucial enabler in my opinion of 1/6/2020. Had the government responded to the capital threats months before, I truly believe a 1/6/2020 doesn't happen.

But what about the response to 1/6/2020? Well, we know it's the most extensive DHS investigation of its history. We know hundreds have been incarcerated and sentenced, etc. We know that public ranking officials of the government and the judiciary have made public comments on the emotion of the event.

And yet all of this emotion, was not present for the American People. I mentioned this before in thread posts, but I want to use a full thread post for it. One of the things that's very apparent is that it is more important for a government building and government officials, then it is for the citizens.

That's not how it should work. Ideally, the care should be equal at a minimum. And at most, this government should care more for its citizens. We PAY their tax dollars. So the mixed messages do paint one thing clearly. US Citizens are at the bottom of the totem pole compared to criminals and compared to politicians.

That I think is the most pressing need of reform, because that priority order is ass backwards.
