    I was reading up on the whole "bloodline of Christ" thing to get a good laugh when I came upon this:

    The authors therefore concluded that the modern goals of the Priory of Sion are:

    The public revelation of the lost treasure of the Temple in Jerusalem, which supposedly contains genealogical records that prove the Merovingian dynasty was of the Davidic line, to facilitate Merovingian restoration in France;

    The re-institutionalization of chivalry and the promotion of pan-European nationalism;

    The establishment of a theocratic "United States of Europe": a Holy European Empire politically and religiously unified through the imperial cult of a Merovingian Great Monarch who occupies both the throne of Europe and the Holy See; and

    The actual governance of Europe residing with the Priory of Sion through a single-party European Parliament.

    There already is a "United States of Europe"- they all share the same currency!

    Then it dawned on me- there is no difference between "The United States of Europe" and The United States of America. They both have borders, they both police their area and they co-operate with each other and it's slightly different in every state USE and USA alike.

    In the context of the Jesus Bloodline, it shows that the Merovingians- Christ's descendants were/are posed to rule the whole of Europe.

    Now- if the Priory comes out with the tombs of Mary Magdeline and Jesus, it would have Earth-shattering implications. Think about it- Jesus died an old man, father and grandfather in France and they buried him in a tomb. And their decendants exist. It'd blow the lid off Catholicism.

    Anyone up to date on these alternate theories that can keep the thread interesting...?

    Or you can read Matt 1 and find the funniest blood line joke:

    The lineage of joseph listed all the way to david to rnder that jesus is supposedly from the line of david for to meet the prophecy, but then the chapter renders that joseph didnt touch mary; so where is the lineage to joseph or david.

    It's such a crack up that i would have thought many would have figured it out years back!

    perhaps dan brown has more information than all of the christian world combined

    I am willing to open the door to new possibilities so long as you're here as panel experts on the subject. This requires collective logic, not quabbling amongst yourselves.

    The link between Jesus and the Merovingian dynasty began in the 20th century with Pierre Plantard. His invention was repeated as truth in "Holy Blood Holy Grail", much of which was "recycled by Dan Brown.

    Holy Blood, Holy Grail is an interesting book (which I've read many times over), but as it was mostly based on the fraudulent documents "Les Dossier Secret".

    There are also other books like "The Templar Revelations".
