Meh, political friendships aren't worth writing about. Last year, there could have been handshakes and deals with Gaddafi due to oil and other exports etc. Today a more favorable ruler can be backed which might bring better deals, and at least win support with our nations if that's what the people want.

Political friendships shift all the time and todays demons were yesterdays angels.

Oil deals are not made on handshakes..

    They are very specific.

So true. It's funny to see Democrats, which are far to the right of any party in Canada, be referred to as 'socialists'.

Americans might be to a degree polarized on the continuum between right and left but the two parties are virtually identical, which leads to a certain amount of frustration for the electorate.

They keep tossing each party out expecting the alternative to get results while all along they're getting more of the same.

Of course in Canada we have the same thing - 3 versions of liberal parties that are virtually indistinguishable, except the party that calls itself Liberal is currently so incompetent they've been sidelined by voters until they can get their house in order.
