It appears that high winds blew down several power lines and that ignited the fires. Those winds, that were driven by an offshore hurricane, spread the flames rapidly afterward.
Thank you for those helpful detail on what is happening there. I have no idea how relevant this is but..... I did read somewhere that some extremely wealthy investors are interested in the real estate that was made available due to this tragedy. Predatory Real Estate Investors Are Reportedly Already Eyeing Maui Many are still missing, and the wreckage from the Hawaii wildfires hasn’t even been sorted through, but Lahaina locals say they are hearing from interested homebuyers.
Many different people will be affected in many different ways by this tragedy. Some people will need to sell property, and some will simply want to sell property, for different reasons altogether. We all have the right to dispose of property that we have legal ownership of, or have legal permission to dispose of. Logically, you'd think that a lot of the people who are affected by this tragedy would contact their insurance companies, rebuild, and maybe in a couple of years, be largely 'back to normal'... but, they don't have to do that if they don't want to.

Hindsight is always 20-20, but it is fair to ask why there would be a siren 'warning system' whose use would create such cambiguity if it were even used or not? One bunch of people would supposedly assume that a siren going off would mean a tsunami is approaching, and so, 'head for the hills' ? Another bunch would assume that some other catastrophe was about to occur, but what kind, where, and when? Truth? If the 'sirens went off' in nearly any city or town in the U. S., right now, how many of us would KNOW what the hell is going on? So, we'd just get on our phones and expect to be told? OK, and what if the people who 'push' those notifications to our phones don't know what the hell is going on, because everything just popped out of nowhere? It's a lot more complicated than it seems....
Something that has made me suspicious for years now...... is HOW do all those drugs get smuggled into USA and Canadian cities...... considering how skilled even ONE CIA or FBI agent often can be??????????? Could the theory have some validity that a significant and influential percentage of FBI and CIA agents may have been corrupted....... .... one theory is that this was largely done from January of 2009 to January of 2017... .but.... I have to admit that as bad as things were during those eight years.......
