We have thousands who have had this virus and recovered. Are these dire conditions what has happened to them?
You see, eventually they have to reconcile why the death rate from 100 other things suddenly dropped to near zero. LOL
I'm just being PRESIDENTIAL! I love Michigan, one of the reasons we are doing such a GREAT job for them during this horrible Pandemic. Yet your Governor, Gretchen “Half” Whitmer is way in over her ahead, she doesn’t have a clue. Likes blaming everyone for her own ineptitude! #MAGA — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 28, 2020 You crybabies can dish it out but when it comes back in kind you run whining to your mommy.
You might not remember this, but the Central Park Five pleaded guilty to murder and other charges. They were kids. After serving years of prison, it was determined that they had pleaded guilty to charges they did not commit. Theirs is the most famous case of that, but certainly not the only case like that. Flynn is no angel, but in this case he was an innocent man.
Taking the latest numbers into account, it seems that at this moment almost one out of three deaths in the United States every day have involved COVID-19. And by "near zero" you mean more 3 times as many!!!!
I think you missed the point. I did not say (or imply) that there were not at least some COVID-19 deaths. What I was saying is that we know for a fact that Blue states have attributed deaths to COVID-19 when no test for the virus was ever administered. So statistically, it is very likely that people who died from other causes were tagged as COVID-19 victims. How many elderly, fragile people who were already near death from various other causes, were tipped over the edge by basically the flu? We can't be certain what caused their death unless an autopsy was performed and it was not in the vast majority of these cases. So that means at some point, those places are going to statistically have unusually lowered death rates for the deaths from other causes. Hopefully you understand what I meant now?
You're way to easy. U.S. Coronavirus Death Toll Is Far Higher Than Reported, C.D.C. Data Suggests https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/28/us/coronavirus-death-toll-total.html
They were innocent, but they pleaded guilty. Bad behavior by the cops and prosecutors. Flynn was innocent, but pleaded guilty. Bad behavior by the cops and prosecutors.
Well, again....you will believe what you want to believe. My mother is a hard left, hard core Obama / Biden supporter. Even SHE knows the CDC can't be trusted. Now, where are all these dead folks? I live in an urban area with over 1 million....we are not seeing all these deaths. Relatives all over the country say the same....where are all the deaths? People are dying as expected, from a myriad of other things....so when they die and it's tagged as COVID-19, there's no alarm. it was already known they were in really bad shape. Now, How many died in car crashes over the last 4 months (the same time period) ? FAR MORE. Where's the panic?
COVID-19 represents an almost negligible amount of deaths relative to other causes. Again, where's the panic?
Like to speak again on this. Yes there should have been a shutdown but it should not have been handled as we did. This was a situation that called for presidential leadership because actions needed to be coordinated according to metropolitan areas crossing state lines. The top 10 Metropolitan areas of the country: 1 New York 19,979,477 New York–Newark–Jersey City, NY–NJ–PA MSA Northeast 2 Los Angeles 13,291,486 Los Angeles–Long Beach–Anaheim, CA MSA West 3 Chicago 9,498,716 Chicago–Joliet–Naperville, IL–IN–WI MSA Midwest 4 Dallas–Fort Worth 7,539,711 Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington, TX MSA South 5 Houston 6,997,384 Houston–The Woodlands-Sugar Land MSA South 6 Washington, D.C. 6,249,950 Washington, D.C.–VA–MD–WV MSA South 7 Miami 6,198,782 Miami–Fort Lauderdale–West Palm Beach, FL MSA South 8 Philadelphia 6,096,372 Philadelphia–Camden–Wilmington, PA–NJ–DE–MD MSA Northeast 9 Atlanta 5,949,951 Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Roswell, GA MSA South 10 Boston 4,875,390 Boston–Cambridge–Quincy, MA–NH MSA Northeast 11 Phoenix 4,857,962 Phoenix–Mesa–Chandler, AZ MSA West 12 San Francisco 4,729,484 San Francisco–Oakland–Berkeley, CA MSA West 13 Riverside–San Bernardino 4,662,361 Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA MSA West 14 Detroit 4,326,442 Detroit–Warren–Dearborn, MI MSA Midwest 15 Seattle 3,939,363 Seattle–Tacoma–Bellevue, WA MSA West 16 Minneapolis–St. Paul 3,629,190 Minneapolis–St. Paul–Bloomington, MN–WI MSA Midwest 17 San Diego 3,343,364 San Diego–Carlsbad–San Marcos, CA MSA West 18 Tampa–St. Petersburg 3,142,663 Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater, FL MSA South 19 Denver 2,932,415 Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO MSA West 20 St. Louis 2,805,465 St. Louis, MO-IL MSA Midwest Many of which span multiple states contain about 1/3 of the US population. If we, instead of 50 individual state solutions we had, instead, opted 1. lockdowns in these 10 areas plus any localized hotspots 2. Less restricted actions in the next 10 met areas including things like closing personal care businesses, and limiting customers at theatres and restaurants 3. Even less in the remainder of the country meaning something like requiring masks and keeping schools closed through the end of the year The lockdowns would have had a smaller impact on the country as a whole and there would be less pressure now to reopen for the sake of reopening whatever the cost. Unfortunately, this is a plan that would have driven the libertarians insane (about 20% of Republicans) and Republicans can ill afford to turn away any of the silos that compose their coalition. So, instead, we are where we are today. Ranging from stupid on one end where we control nothing to stupid on the other where Nowhere, Kansas is locked down.
That photo proves nothing. Please provide a link so I can read the full story. Did you know that a several million square foot floating hospital was also sent to NY, but not used? Yes, NewYork VASTLY over estimated the number of ventilators and resources needed. But pictures of the resources proves nothing. I can show you a picture of that giant floating hospital NewYork had, but never needed if you like. Plus what? 40,000 unneeded ventilators. What you did is prove my point. Thanks
Your link is full of the "can lead to " as in conjecture. It is way too early to know what if any long term effects this will have on people in general. The post I was replying too said it was known that it would on everyone infected. Huge difference and thus nothing but more scare tactics.
Hmm, you seems to be ignoring the elephant in the room again. As a reminder: Post 115: You could start by explaining the increase in total deaths in New York for April compared to previous years? Post 204: Your link has nothing to do with the increase in total number of deaths in April compared to previous years for the same period. Do you want to try again Post 383: I see that you are still maintaining this belief yet you still haven't explained away the excess total deaths during the last few weeks in New York when compared to the same period in previous years. And here is a set of graphs courtesy of ronv which, as you obviously do need your hand holding, shows those "total number of deaths" from all causes: Notice the obvious jump in number of total deaths? Now why don't you try and explain those huge increases away?
I have ask myself that question. This is where I came out. 1-NYC has very high population density. 2-NYC has mostly mass transit. 3-NYC is a major transportation hub with Europe, which alas Trump didn't shut down until to late. 4-The tests early on when they might have contained it didn't work. I understand that's a little more complicated than counting funny, but that's my ideas on it.
