there was a big industry for gunsmiths to customize WWI bolt actions such as the Springfield 03 or the K98 rifles into spotters. One operation was to turn the bolt down so the rifles could be used with telescopic sights-other modifications were scope mounts and some custom stock companies got their start making hunting style wood stocks for those military rifles. Most modern bolt action spotters such as the Famous Winchester 70 and equally famous Remington 700 were based on military bolt actions.

Didn't the guy in the Texas Bell Tower use a lever action gun? Granted it wasn't a 22 but I believe it was a lever or was it a bolt action?

WOW, the bottom one is a lever action and later held around 16 rounds, from memory. Ever see how fast a lever action is?

    LMAO

I used to shoot SASS matches (cowboy shoots). One of the best guys in the area was a guy whose handle was "Lassiter" and he was-in real life-a guy who once set the quick draw record at Vegas (there were two styles-one was fanning the hammer, the other was thumb cocking the six shooter-that was what this guy did). He used to run a nice cowboy shoot in Eaton Ohio, (just west of Dayton). One stage had several steel plates in a rack-your first shot you hit a flat plate that released the round plates that rolled down the rack. I watched this guy hammer 7 plates with winchester 45 colt lever gun-I was the RO and had the timer. he shot this almost as fast as I could with a the EAA race gun I had when I shot for the EAA gold team. Never realized how fast someone could shoot one of those things.

Everyone wants to reduce murders. The disagreement is about how best to do that. The right things locking up criminals does that best the left thinks disarming everyone but thugs is a good idea.

Can’t go buy one from a Kmart or Sears. And a neighbor won’t sell a gun to you because he wouldn’t trust you with a 10ft pole AND it would be illegal in most cases. Any lawful gun owner would sniff your kind out in a second. :)

And can you pass the background check? Not sure. AND you proved my point without even knowing it AGAIN. Guns are certainly not EASIER to get now because loads of states have laws now that didn’t have them a few decades ago. So what CHANGED? The people. More mental illness. Lack of families. A More diverse society who does most of the shooting. Guns are still guns. But people aren’t the same anymore. Growing up in the 80s the cop in our area helped us all shoot our .22s and gave us gun safety lessons.

U.S. still has a lower rate of gun homicides than most all of the countries in Latin America or major countries in Africa.

That article didn't say what criteria they are using to count a crime as a "mass shooting". Are they counting incidents where only 2 people were shot? Because that could very much inflate the total.

I have an IDI 357 Timberwolf pump gun I bought years ago. I used to leave it in my trunk when I traveled around since it was legal just about anyplace being neither a semi auto or a pistol I could shoot that thing almost as fast as a semi auto. I just couldn't reload as fast!

88 in 111 days makes us inherently violent, what does 100,000 dead by fentanyl make us?

No.....not as a political weapon at all. I want your guns laws to mirror what we have Down Here, and ultimately, if that happens, your kids will stop getting slaughtered by weapons of mass murder, or by a group of arzeholes entering a Sweet 16 event with handguns and blasting away.

But...you don't see that. You are too busy being a gun slinger for money, honing your quick fire skills and techniques....for bears and coyotes, I guess.

we don't care about Australia or the Aesop fox nonsense
trying to impose your (unconstitutional garbage in our country) schemes would cause far more damage here than it did in a country of sheep

"Mass Killings" is now a grossly mis-represented term weaponized by the anti-gun crowd to make the rare occurrence seem more common.

It is being intentionally perverted for politics and agendas.

    1. Gang shootings that result in multiple people being shot were never previously considered mass shootings which was reserved for random terror type school shootings and targeting of innocent people. These are now being rolled in intentionally.

    2. Mass killings doesn't discuss the method. However is always a mechanism for opposing guns.

    3. The Alabama innocent didn't really get the news cycle air time because the narrative didn't fit the agenda.
