The Vatican Girl - where is Emanuela Orlandi? Disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Emanuela_Orlandi A most mysterious case. It is going to be re-opened again now.
Whoever did it is probably dead. The family who new the victim are probably mostly all dead. Seems like a waste of resources.
never close an open case unless it's solved... the Vatican made a mistake closing the case while unsolved
...just thinking out loud here...on the basis that there are...what...thousands of unsolved disappearances or missing teenagers/children/people throughout Europe why has this one caught your attention? I'm sure the police would strive to solve every instance they can but re-opening a 40 year old case seems odd unless there is new and compelling evidence...is there? You mentioned that the case is being re-opened is there anything in the public domain that explains why? It would be more interesting to read what the police or investigators have potentially discovered and why they are now putting this case back in the public domain, rather than just some random thread about someone who more than likely met a tragic end 40 years ago. You're right there should be justice and in a perfect world there would be justice but since this world isn't perfect...well...sometimes its hard to get justice and even harder for the families to accept and equally as hard for them to go on with their lives without "closure". So, going back to my original thought, unless there is some new and compelling reason for the authorities to re-open this investigation which has prompted your OP I would, unfortunately, consign this thread to the tilting at windmills category until there is. Its still a tragic case just like all the thousands of others like this.
