I do but could take it or leave it. It's interested but uninspired and repetitive

I just finished the first season. I must say it's a very good start for the show, especially the whole encounter at the end with that CDC guy.

You're streets behind. Better catch up if you are going to drop in on the new season starting in a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't have Season 3, so I won't be able to catch up.

    SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

That is because a certain character, who I will not name to not ruin it for Andymale, almost single handedly destroyed the series for me. If they hadn't killed her off I wouldn't have bothered to continue watching it. I have no problems stopping watching a series if it has really annoying plot elements or characters that should not be there. I stopped watching The Dome entirely because of the absolute stupidity of the "Junior" storyline.

I don't watch it, I'm not into "zombies" - zombies are way too cliche

It really started going downhill after season one. Especially with the director change and the ridiculous budget slashing AMC did.

I watched the premier last night, and im glad i got to see some action again. BUT until the finale thats where the action is gonna stop. get ready to watch "monologue"-commercial-"monologue"-commerical-"oh look another monologue"-commercial-"quickly kill one zombie then back to another monologue"-commercial-"Monologue"-end of show where the preview to the next show will include all 7 seconds of the action included and then the beginning of all the monologues.

I do agree, there is an awful lot of talking going on for a zombie movie. I get that the premise is supposed to be how people would realistically react in that kind of situation but come one.............more zombies please.

Are you kidding? You had zombies falling through the ceiling! That was a great scene! And that was in an episode which was basically a reset to show how they've established lives in the prison.

I'm sure Harry Potter-zombie will wreck plenty of carnage next week while everyone is asleep.

yay 1 episode with a decent amount of action, now like i said they will go back to monologue after monologue after monologue after monologue.

yeah im sure the geek zombie will eat a couple of the other house guests and chaos will reign for 15 seconds, but then we are in for 4 episodes of monologue's about how the kid turned without being bitten. then by the mid season finale they will wait till 2 minutes left to bring us more action just to leave us hanging on enough to come back to watch the rest of the series.

thats been the premise ever since the end of season 1. with season 2 we had monlogue after monologue after monologue about finding carol's daughter and side (*)(*)(*)(*) about chick being prego. nothing but talking until the mid season finale where zombies got slaughtered. then when they came back to finish season 2 it was nothing but monologues until the last 3 minutes of the season 2 finale.

season 3 was the same (*)(*)(*)(*) all oer again, nothing but talk talk talk talk talk talk with very scarce action until the mid season finale and finally the season finale.

this went from bad ass to a show that we would see on Lifetime, its seriously nothing but a zombie show chick flick lol.

I actually thought that was extremely silly. It brought me back to the days of some of the original zombie movies in the 70s where they relied far to heavily on "bad luck" They were only in that store for literally two minutes. In all the time that the structure was like that and zombies were walking on the roof it just happens to be in that exact two minutes that they just happen to accidentally walk on the weak parts of the roof (remember it wasn't the entire roof just the weak spots). I rolled my eyes at that scene it reminded me of the opening scene of Dawn of the Dead where the cop for some reason completely forgot how to work his shotgun.

Slowly advancing hordes of zombies that slowly overwhelm your defenses, that makes sense but I hope they don't go back to the days of the extremely lame and cheap method of everyone tripping over their shoes when they run away or their guns all jam at the same time or a meteor just happens to strike and blow a whole in their fence......I think after the 2005 Dawn of the Dead remake or the 28 Days movies that we have moved beyond taht silliness.

The first season was really good.

Second season was too slow with the farm.

    Third season was much better.

Fourth season is starting too slow. Hopefully it get's better.

Oh, and if you like the series (you HAVE to play the computer game) it's really good!:clapping:

Yes, it's lots of walker killing. But to truly enjoy the show you have to put yourself in the whole situation. The moral decisions you have to make, how humanity has changed so much in such a short time. How you can't trust any living human being you see. Life is completely backwards. You know you have to kill a walker, but you know also you might have to kill a living human because you can't trust them anymore. These are huge dilemmas the characters are dealing with. It's way deeper than killing zombies and at the same time trying to save children's innocence in a eff'd up world. It's deep and you have to embrace all of that and analyze it.

Is it just me, or was Beth flirting with Daryl? I wasn't sure, but I think she was interested. I think trying out firsts, such as drinking, might have been a round about way of letting him know if she was interested. Then again, I'm not sure and I don't think Daryl picked up on that either.

I agree that Beth is "testing the waters of adulthood/womanhood". I don't know if Daryl picked up on it, either, but it would be my guess that he wouldn't act on it, at least not right away. Their situation & his head are still rather jacked up & I think he still looks at her as a kid. But, in the future, things could change.

yup, the humans are scarier than the zombies, zombies are just big slow mosquitoes that keep trying to bite you even as you try and kill them...humans are the real monsters...

I think if they never got back with the larger group, something probably would happen, but I don't think they would be an obvious couple otherwise. More like a couple of convenience. But yeah I think she was testing her "womanhood," particularly now that her dad is dead, she seems like she's ready to cut loose.

I have never seen The Walking Dead, but I hear that it is good, entertaining, escapist television.

(I gave up my cable/satellite last year, in order to save a bit of money, and mainly because I just wasn't watching the damned thing. It was just collecting dust, and DirecTV was making a fortune off of my ill-placed devotion to watching the NFL games.)

I figure that I can go to a sports bar if there is a game that I really want to see.

Agreed. Will there be a cure? Will all the characters we care about just die(or will the door be left ajar for a future return)? The show can really just go on for the foreseeable future, as long as the writing stays strong, the material(comic book) keeps being produced & we(the viewers) continue to care about the characters. Ratings have to stay real strong though, 'cause the show is so expensive to produce. There is supposed to be "another" TWD series coming next year, with a different locale & totally different characters. I'm looking forward to that also.

I'm about to stop watching. Ever since they came back from the break the show has been lackluster at best. This last episode that focused on Beth and Darryl was easily the worst episode so far. They should focus on the whole "this man is a scientist and he knows exactly what caused this" angle and start winding down the show. Enough backstory filler episodes.

The beauty of Netflix. Be careful, when you start watching shows like this season after season in a short time, you dream it. You have been warned :)
