The whole post smacks of invalidating those who identify as transgender. The OP deliberately dismisses what it means to transition. Tell me what in your post or in your use of the words ‘transies’ and ‘Trans-whats-its’ actually validates those who identify as transgender. You don’t appear to understand how your actions come across and the meaning of your own posts.

The sign — “If genitals don’t define gender, how does removing them affirm it” doesn’t prove anything.

It’s like asking a why a person wants to buy some nicer fancier clothes. It’s just their preference and it makes them feel better.

If a transgender person decides to get surgery, it’s not to change their biological sex, it’s to make them feel better about their chosen gender. Why is this such a problem if what they are choosing to do makes them happy and doesn’t harm anyone?

It has happened to some. That's enough to object to. It has also sparked the requirement in public speaking at many conferences for people to name their pronouns. I find that problematic as well. It forces people to out themselves or lie. Imagine if we did that for sexual orientation when that was still a hot issue and many were still in the closet about it. "When you speak, please first state if you are gay or not; out yourself in front of all of us please. Thank you".

 

Christianity is a good comparison point. Christians used to demand we atheists confirm their God exists, or there would be trouble. Now the trans lobby demands that everyone confirms male sex can be female gender, or there will be trouble.

 

Yes, it is. Public at large vote people in who make laws that protect children from abusive or neglectfu decisons by their parents, or active physicians treating children. The protection of children is indeed the concern of all of society, not just the child's parents.

I hope that is where things settle. Currently, you do have to feign approval, or face the same sort of social (and to some extent legal) troubles. Trans in combat sports is a real issue. So is being forced to call somebody by their preferred pronouns.

I agree, and most are against Trans men in physical women sports - ask Congress to update the law with a clean bill that does not take away rights from lgbtq, but addresses this one topic

 

True. And usually you often may go along with somebody's delusions ("Oh yes, you are very smart"; he's actually an idiot, etc), but the point here is that you shouldn't be required to or pressured to with any sort of sanction against you.

A law just about the sports thing could make sense. Personally I don't see much need for gendered sports (aside from maybe combat sports) in the first place, so kind of a moot issue for me.
When men compete with women at the highest levels in many sports, men will often win, trans or not, and I don't really have a problem with that. If men are just better at the sport, then they should be at the top of it, like any other pursuit in life.

 

at one's job one should be, in private, do as you wish, though it may still upset some around you, though I do think the everyone is a 10 is nonsense, it's ok, most of us are not 10's - we should all strive to be the best we can, but not everyone can be a 10, or a sports star, or whatever... and that is ok

Trans care is a very very tiny issue in the realm of problems in the world or USA.
