i read that Putin made a US top ten admired list this year. Meanwhile, we are drowning Russia in cheap oil. It will be an interesting year especially for Russian citizens.

We were able to accomplish our goals in Afghanistan because UNLIKE THE SOVIET UNION...the United States had no intention of Annexing Afghanistan.

Hungary refuses to go against Russia and is fearful the US might try a coup like in Ukraine. Right now there are thirty countries that want trade with the Eurasian Union headed by Russia so they stop using the American dollar and trade in their own currencies. Anyway these are only a few examples.

When Russia gets paid in dollars, they are traded immediately for physical gold. The dollar is not circulating in Russia, so I don't know what you're talking about.

Oil was only seventeen percent of Russia's profit. It has its gas deals with China, Turkey, Europe, etc., not to mention all the other minerals it supplies the world with. It also has its arms industries. Russia is an export nation, so when it's paid in dollars and they are exchanged into Rubles it goes very far in Russia. Since people are only buying domestic products rather than imported ones, they haven't suffered at all.

As far as what the Soviet Union did in Afghanistan....it was slaughter of any and all Afghan's whether they were innocent or not.

The Soviet Military flew in Choppers and dropped thousands upon thousands of tiny EXPLOSIVE TOYS...things like Colored Ink Pens and small Dolls and other Toys a kid or child if they found it would pick up.

These TOYS were actually small explosive devices that when picked up off the ground would explode usually blowing off the hand or arm of a child or perhaps killing the kid.

This is probably the most sickening thing the Soviet Union ever did.

Because there are several large U.S. Military Bases in Poland and the Poles absolutely LOVE the fact such American Bases exist there....I have been to those bases and have been to Poland many times.

There are just as many people in the U.S. who are U.S. Citizen's that are either of Polish Decent or have a bit of Polish Decent in them as their are people living in Poland.

The happiest day in the lives of all Poles was when their Soviet Forced Communist Government of Poland was removed from power.

Yeah....the ONLY thing Russia could do short of Military Action which against U.S. and NATO Forces would be a disaster for Russia....would be to stop selling Natural Gas to Europe.

Now this isn't going to happen as it would essentially be Russia cutting their own throat and the United States could make up such an Energy Shortfall by several methods although there is no doubt such Russian action would cause economic chaos in Europe.

But the economic chaos such an action would have in Europe is NOTHING to the disasterous effect it would have upon Russia itself.

Look...Russia has a very small Economy with a GDP of just about $2 Trillion.

China has a Economy with a GDP of about $6 Trillion.

That's $8 Trillion together and $8 Trillion in influence.

The E.U. has a GDP of $15.6 Trillion.
The U.K. has a GDP of $2.8 Trillion.
Japan has a GDP of $4.9 Trillion.

The United States has a GDP of $17.7 Trillion

Total....$50 Trillion.....United States and it's Allies.

Total....$8 Trillion....Russia and China.

Even if you added in BRIC.....the total GDP would still only be arounf $10 Trillion vs $50 Trillion.

Stalin created a Program of FORCED RELOCATION....as Stalin felt that the Soviet People were all too concentrated in specific urban areas on the Soviet Union and that the only way to spread the Soviet Poulation out to cover and thus be able to guard the massive area that was the Soviet Union in which SIBERIA was and still is almost comletely uninhabited....Stalin used the Soviet Military to round up MILLIONS OF SOVIET PEOPLE.

These people were rounded up and allowed to take just what they could carry and placed in trucks or in trains and then DUMPED OFF IN PREDETERMINED AREAS ALL ACROSS SIBERIA!!

Stalin just left them in small groups all over Northern Asia and Stalin NEVER helped resupply such people and most DIED in a very short time after being Forced Relocated.

So as the Soviet Union was quite possibly the single most corrupt system and form of governent the world has ever seen.....let's all just be happy we won't ever have to see it again.

Such a system...and the people who advocated it belong upon the scrap heap of history.
