. . . after cabinet mutiny. PM will announce departure tomorrow, allies say as Leadsom becomes 36th minister to resign." Going . . . going . . . GONE!! Missing ya already, traitor!! Tom Tugenhat was lauding her like some latter-day Joan of Arc from the central; lobby yesterday; how dedicated and determined, how much safer she's made Europe, and what a good Home Secretary she was. The only notable thing about her in the latter role that I can recall was how she shafted the Windrush families and their descendants. 3 utterly wasted years and nothing to show for it except national embarrassment. In the name of god GO! and let us have done with you. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/theresa-may-prepares-to-quit-after-cabinet-mutiny-9mmjthtv8
So would a resignation mean an immediate replacement? I'm asking because Trump's scheduled to meet with May in a few weeks. Presuming May still holds office.
I suspect she's clinging on for that visit, so she can bask in the limelight for the last time. She's lost the plot though, of that there's no doubt. All we need now for 'Idiocracy' is for Johnson to take her place . . . not that he could possibly be any worse.
I guess it'll be interesting to see how Trump will react. Hopefully someone from FOX News will inquire today. Certainly US media will be stalking Maxine Waters and lapping up her froth.
I'm still trying to get my head around why we're taking part in the Euro elections (at a cost of $1.5 million which May should pay out of her own bank account, seeing it was her fault) if we've got to be out by October, why TF would we need representation in the Euro parliament for the next 5 years?
Can we Brexit on the PM's departure on WTO and cite this resignation as a no deal. That'll end the deadlock.
If we can end this on paper to also be an announcement of Brexit and no deal and crashing out of the EU?
We could have left with a no deal 4 years ago, but our masters in parliament voted it off the table. That means that around 400 individuals of the green benches have nullified the wishes of the rest of the population. So much for the democratic process. I can't believe this ****, I honestly can't.
WTO Article 24 says We're allowed to continue under no deal to trade tariff free with the EU within a certain amount of time / find a new free trade deal. Both UK and EU are WTO.
Yes, but I mean, now that the PM might go because the deal was no good. Now would be a good a time to go, to leave the EU. Already have people thinking extension. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...prioritising-theresa-mays-removal-over-brexit Does the EU have any learning difficulties?
Juncker'd never accept that the United Kingdom rejecting Theresa May was the United Kingdom rejecting the agreement on the withdrawal bill. So how can you extend what is dead? The answer Mr. Juncker is, no deal.
There's NO WAY the politicians will allow us to leave under a no deal - hell will freeze over first. They'd rather revoke A50 and have another Leave or Remain referendum. That's wghat the arch-traitor Ken Clarke was saying yesterday. but what the fool doesn't realise that if another referendum was to be a Remain result, the Leavers of the first one, myself included, will demand a 'best of three'.
I mean. . ; Now, today, unless Brexit takes his (Jean Claude Juncker) job too, somehow (don't care tbh).... And.... That the departure of Theresa May is UK leaving the EU? It's clear to me the UK concentrating on Theresa May is as serious as the UK's handling Brexit, and think it's rather insulting for Juncker to suggest we'd accept this deal under anyone else and quite frankly - that logic is beyond me. How can he think extension is the answer? I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious and toxic.
Soz but my board time has run out now - because the sun's out, and I'm gonna set myself a piece of it. lol
I really do not care who is PM in the UK ... The only important thing for me is that the British are then finally hoepfully in Parliament by a majority in a position and able to tell the EU, whether they want to do Brexit with a deal or without a deal. It's just ridiculous what British politics does and looks like since 2 years ...
All the main parties seem to want to be run by the EU which is in turn terrified of Trump. So might we not offer the job of PM to the Donald?
You don't get it, but don't worry, you're not alone, Juncker doesn't get it either. Theresa May leaving office is the UK telling the EU to do Brexit without a deal.
I reiterate; Theresa May isn't why this deal never happened; the EU not budging on their no cherry picking issue and demanded things in return without giving a single cherry; Is why the deal is dead.
Really? So ... the parliament is ... if May is away ... making a "No Deal" Brexit? I think i get it real, because where is the parliamentary decision which is by uk rules necessary here please? O dear ... I as a German must explain about the process in UK? Seriously? Anyway ... Hopefully the Brexit will happen then ... no matter how! No desire to listen to the bullcrap of the ungrateful Brits ...
If Boris Johnson or Malcolm Rees-Mogg is the PM. You see, Theresa May is just a parrot for the EU nowadays; the offer won't change from the EU will it? So how can it matter who the PM is if it's the same deal on the table? The only way is to have a PM who'll say no deal. Instead of beating a dead horse.
The thing that's keeping her from being kicked out of the door tonight is that the 1922 Committee are preparing their leadership bids. Not any faith in her changing this deal the EU wouldn't give a cherry to - a deal that locks the UK to the EU without a voice in the EU, that annexes Northern Ireland, and asks for £39bn. I wonder if this is how Henry VIII felt when he split from the Vatican?
