This is what "Fake Science" looks like

    Fine, then provide the fully story.

    You know, it is completely possible to both cover the claims of the press release, and also to bring up who it may not be workable. Like pointing out how it can be an incredibly niche development that has a very slender real world application.

    But that is almost never done, they just sing the praises of it. And never once bring up things that could show it is just a big steaming turd with pretty wrapping paper around it.

    50 microwatts. That is an almost completely insignificant amount of power. And to be honest I am having a hard time imagining anything that would work with that small of a current.

    I would love to see a list of actual electronic equipment that can function at 50 microwatts. Because I have actually been thinking about it and tried to find something and came up blank. Short some of some highly specialized medical implants, that actually have special batteries.

    I guess that would work, I could power my pacemaker for day to day operation by keeping a big bin of dirt near me. Of course, that would be worthless when I actually needed a jolt.

    It specifies the problem they are solving.
