In search of common sense, the lost Holy Grail of our era and the missing link in our evolution. Imagine if you will, a world where the Democrat Party ran out of members because everyone used common sense, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had yet to be invented and no one any longer believed carrots grew on trees. A world where BLM was a type of hot chili sauce you put on French fries, Hillary Clinton was deemed a danger to society and everyone that ran for public office had to be common sense capable licensed. Of course it’s just a dream, but what if such a world existed? What would it look like? Would capitalist multimillionaire three home owning socialist Bernie Sanders go to live in Venezuela instead of the US? Would the American voting public once again elect Republican Presidents instead of the Russians and China become just another developing country who make affordable products people want? How can a country that once sent man to the moon elect Joe Biden? The answer is in human evolution, the missing link, what we’ve spent the last two decades trying to rid ourselves of … Its common sense! From Early Beginnings A minority still possess what the rest have long forgotten and has now become a folk lore dating back to Google’s invention way back in ancient history around 1998. That’s when Google replaced common sense which itself dates back to prehistoric times and thought to have begun when the first caveman put his finger in the fire to see if it hurt. As he let out a howl of pain, using common sense his wife shook her head and muttered "I knew this would happen." The decline of common sense is why we now need signs telling us a floor is slippery when wet and a warning label on a packet of peanuts informing us that the packet may contain nuts. Nevertheless, if you listen closely you can still hear distant sounds of common sense in phrases such as ‘this isn’t going to happen’ drowned out amidst the clamor of cult personality politicians and those supporting them trying to build transgender utopias and change the earth’s climate. This Isn’t Going to Happen 1. Ukraine allowing NATO to build a Naval Base in Crimea. 2. Invading the Middle East hoping to control the world’s major oil suppliers whilst pretending to bring democracy and freedom. 3. Sanctioning Russian and Chinese economies in the hope they’ll collapse. 4. Discovering a magical green energy which will replace Russian oil and gas this winter. Meanwhile, it’s all explained to us with the patience of a child stamping its foot as those lacking common sense prepare to book a flight to Kiev to join the victory celebrations as Ukraine defeats Russia. That’s after the Russian economy collapses and President Putin dies of cancer, of course. The celebration will also include a parade in memory of the Ghost of Kiev, the mythical pilot who shot down dozens of modern Russian fighter jets in his old Soviet era Mig29 and an autograph opportunity from Mr. Zelensky who recently appeared on the front cover of Vogue fashion magazine. Yet there remains a glimmer of common sense in all of us, it’s in our DNA, it’s who we are. It’s what stops us putting our heads into a bucket of water and breathing deeply to see what happens, or closing our eyes when driving whilst pretending we’re an ostrich. If common sense could be put in a syringe and injected as a vaccine, it would rival the greatest scientific inventions of our era. Source: Kris P. Bacon.
If you recall, Republicans were voted out last time for not fixing healthcare in America. It used to be common sense that America couldn't change its healthcare system. The myth was that it was impossible. But, the last time it was tried was way back during the Obama presidency years ago. So, the myth that healthcare in America can't change is starting to look like fact again. But, remember the "common sense" of voting for Republicans.
No, I don’t recall that. I thought the country had just got fed up with Trump, as they did with Obama before him. Yes, Obama did try, but you can’t have a European type universal health care system in the US, there’s too many making a profit out of the private sector.
I don't know about unrestrained capitalism but at least let the buggers off the leash and see what they can do. I'm talking about domestic oil and natural gas production.
The west can't produce enough oil and gas it needs itself. It's dependent on the world's oil producers.
I think US healthcare is great. Ten years ago I had a massive heart attack and triple bypass. Pain was minimal and I'm fine today. American healthcare helped my wife beat cancer. She' fine today. Life is good.
30 years after automobiles were invented, you still routinely saw horse drawn vehicles on the streets of New York. Instant gratification is for children and fools.
I drive in a beautiful, roomy, fun-to-drive gas guzzler. But I'm only blocks from a supermarket, a mall, restaurants, a gun shop... so I can walk when I want to.
I used to ride a bicycle everywhere and never had a driver's license until I was 39. Now I have a van and a motorcycle and a bicycle.... Needless to say the bicycle sees the least amount of use.
I guess. I never met anyone that didn't get a driver's license until they were 39. I certainly see no point there. Like waiting to watch TV until you're collecting social security.
I have no problem with gas vehicles. My point is unlike many liberals I was actually able to live without it for decades. They talk the talk but they do not walk the walk.
Were you " instantly gratified " ? Kind of getting off my original point here. I was originally responding to Alexander who said that we no longer need fossil fuels because they have run their course. But you can be certain he still gets down the road using them
Yup... it will take years to get rid of fossil fuels. Even in America. The rest of the world will laugh at at us as we cripple our economy with the effort. Coal and oil will drive most economies into the future, especially China since they want economic dominance. All this GoreBull Warming stuff is as important to China as yak urine.
If your sort was still in charge we would be using horses to get around and whale oil for light. Things change over time, I know this bothers you but it's just how life goes.
Do you realize that over 30% of our electricity still comes from fossil fuels? Do you think these billions of dollars of equipment and industry can just disappear with the wave of a magic wand?
