Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it

I am appalled at the parallels between the rise of Adolf Hitler and the kooky rise of Donald Trump. All over America we find countless millions of folks who see Trump as the promised Second Coming of Christ. They take deep comfort in the belief that this, the current scenario, speaks to reaffirming that USA is "God's chosen country" and that fair-skinned Americans are "God's chosen people" -- both of which concepts are utterly idiotic. If there is a God then I cannot for one second believe that He plays favorites.

So I fear that the words of Senator Lindsey Graham are accurate. He has recently stated that any attempts made to disqualify or deter Trump from once again attaining the Presidency would result in widespread rioting in the streets.

I decry the horror of these realizations. The world stinks! This dying septuagenarian says, "You can have it!".

 

I hear you. The MAGAts are unpredictable in their rage without even knowing why. The only comfort is in knowing this degree of stupidity is limited to a small percentage of the population. Maybe they should be allowed to secede from the nation. It would probably be less than a decade before running back to want to join civilization. Maybe it will mean something then.

 

Ever heard of Mein Kampf? Hitler wrote it in prison.

Guess where you geniuses who are sweating bullets over the “parallels” curiously want to send him?

You need to study history so that you don't confuse beliefs. The idea that the U.S. is chosen started as early as the Pilgrims and has nothing to do with Trump.

Many people opposing Biden do not have fair skin so your racist dog-whistle is false.

Now you're fantasizing about something you believe is fantasy.

Most rioting is done by Democrats. Always has been. Always will be. Fire the racist Democrat prosecutors and you'll have more peace in the streets.

People who think the world stinks might want to smell themselves. They might be the cause.

 

For every "parallel" a liberal wants to make with Trump and Hitler, a conservative can make a similar "parallel" between Biden and Hitler.

Cmon people. Enough demonizing. Enough propaganda. Debate the issues of the day please, or you will repeat history, one way or the other.

 

That's utter nonsense! Biden is a well-seasoned hard-working public servant. He is known for effective bi-partison accomplishments over forty-odd years. Clearly, he is not a populist. Trump had zero experience in public service and is, according to Bill Barr, "the consummate narcissist". Trump acts like the office of the presidency is tantamount to a kingship. Trump is plainly copying Hitler and those like Hitler. Biden is plainly just a workaday grunt.

I am less and less concerned about rioting in the streets. Trump has called for them, outright, with each of his indictments. Yet his following have failed to come through for him. I think we are seeing the quiet decline in his support.

 

If only Trump were a criminal traitor.

 

On his best day, Trump ain’t even close to Hitler, not by a long shot.

Trump isn’t even good enough to be a stale, unseasoned yet overcooked off model version of a fictional dictator, and he looks like he should’ve put more effort into inciting a better gastric bypass instead of a riot.

 

I don't care for Trump, but I don't see him organizing groups like the SS to beat up his political opposition.

If there are any violent groups in a American, you might look at ANTIFA, and the rioters who burned parts of cities during the summer of 2020. Unfortunately we will probably see those violent left wingers in action again if any Republican is elected president in 2024.

Texas Woman Charged With Threatening Judge Chutkan

A Texas woman allegedly called the chambers of U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in DC on Aug. 5 and left a message using the N-word and threatening to kill the Black jurist overseeing the Jan. 6 prosecution of Donald Trump. The message also allegedly contained threats to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), who is also Black.

In the message, left two days after Trump was arraigned in Chutkan’s courtroom, Abigail Jo Shry of Alvin, Texas, allegedly called the judge a “stupid slave n***er. If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you, so tread lightly, b*tch,” Shry allegedly said. “You are in our sights, we want to kill you.”

Shry has been charged with similar conduct in three other cases over the past year, according to the judge in the new case. Her father spoke at her detention hearing, painting quite a picture of his daughter:

At the hearing, court papers said, Ms. Shry’s father, Mark Shry, testified that she was a “nonviolent alcoholic” who “sits on her couch daily watching the news while drinking too many beers.”

Do these incidents represent an epidemic of violence? Epidemic is a strong word. But is it fair to say right wing media is radicalizing people though the vast majority don't act out violently? I think it is. How many thousands of misinformed folks, glued to their TV sets while hearing lies, are there for every Abigail Jo Shry?

Orchestrate how you ask? By both giving tacit approval to acts and threats of violence and most importantly by not overtly condemning them.

 

As to the allegation that I am a liberal, sure, I can concur.
As to the comparison with ANTIFA, they can hold lawful protests with my blessing and if any are found to have broken laws then I recommend that those be held accountable. Perhaps I am not as knowledgeable about Hitler as I could be. I know that some of my lineage lost their lives in the concentration camps. Yes I feel strongly that the rise of Trump is horrifying and portends super badly. The guy does much more harm than good, in my humble estimation.
