Where oh where is the media outrage? And why does it always seem that the race of the shooter determines whether or not CNN/MSNBC, et al cover it at all... https://www.fox4news.com/news/school-shooting-reported-at-timberview-high-school-in-arlington Some might begin to believe that progressive outrage is being reserved to only push one specific racial narrative.
I agree with your take. Surprised to see a lack of a “grab guns” narrative as well. I will add this- schools are failing our kids in so many ways. If this kid was bullied and harassed as alleged, I can see the desperation he felt and why he brought a gun to school. Certainly not condoning it. I have enough anecdotal evidence to support the notion that school administrators are failing to address to true bullying and harassment in schools and an utter failure to hold those kids accountable who are committing the bully/harass. Ironic given the mass explosion in school administrators to students ratios.
I think a black and swollen eye is proof. I think one kid’s cell phone video is proof. I think a teacher seeing it is proof.
Yes. Those are examples of proof that school authorities can react to. The trouble is bullying that is hidden, school authorities can’t be damned for not intervening there.
Again, off topic. Why not address the discussion about why MSM won't cover this particular school shooting. Create your own thread about bullying if you want.
if you are looking to somehow defend the "alleged" shooter then good luck. But, he at least turned himself in unlike the scumbag in Northport FL
If you watch the video, there is a clue to the problem a little after the 3:00min mark, when the spoke person is talking... "He was just trying to protect himself....." Too many people have too many excuses.
And it is more than just the MSM. Many teachers, school boards, DAs, police chiefs, politicians, etc, are afraid to point out wrong-doings done by minorities. Apparently pointing out these wrongs is racist - and then the crime rate soars because there is no accountability.
There were many other sources that reported it yesterday. In fact, the one you posted, Fox4, was a day later than most. https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/06/us/timberview-high-school-shooting-texas/index.html https://abcnews.go.com/US/active-shooter-situation-reported-texas-high-school/story?id=80434656 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...xas-high-school-multiple-people-shot-n1280920 You're absolutely right though. Another example of how there are too many guns and too easily accessed in this country!
Was this on cnn and msnbc. Yes or no? Also or it was on there the form of a scrolling marquee at the bottom of the screen it doesn’t count!
If this gun was legally purchased, does the owner of the gun bear any responsibility for their gun being so “easily accessed”?
I don't know Texas law, but in the state I live in it is. If it isn't, it should be. It doesn't bother me that people own guns. They should: Register ALL guns. All gun sales should be done through a check system. (no, they're not) Gun owners should be responsible for them. Most gun owners I know are. Not hard to do.
The story was all over the news regardless of which channel you choose to watch, including the picture of the 18 year old perp.
What is the point? You opened the thread by whining about the media, and don't even explain what your angst is all about. Yes. Why? You Google not working? A suspect is in custody in the Texas school shooting that left at least 4 people injured https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/06/us/timberview-high-school-shooting-texas/index.html
Quite true. And of course democratic party DAs won't prosecute these crimes because even though there is no doubt that a suspect committed a crime, somehow it's racist to prosecute them for those crimes.
I suppose you might not understand proportionality. But hey, compare the media coverage of this one vs the media coverage of say Parkland. Even you cannot be so obtuse to not see the difference. Endless hand wringing vs virtually no coverage at all. Gun grabs for weeks vs, nothing. The left and their pet media certainly aren't above being obviously racist. This is the example.
Perhaps it has something to do with Parkland shooting 17 dead and 17 injured versus Timberview shooting 4 injured!
Ok, let's do that comparison. Parkland = 17 kids killed Timberview = 0 kids killed And you think its me who cannot understand proportionality....? I can see the difference between 17 and 0, but apparently you cannot. There has been 16 school shootings this year, but you don't hear much about them because the number of victims has been low. You see race conspiracies in everything, but that's just the way you roll. It is not the reality. Big events make big news. I think most people understands that. There was a school shooting in Idaho this year where 3 kids were injured, but it was not big news because there were no fatalities.
a 17 year old with gold teeth and a dodge charger his mom bought, and we're supposed to think of him as a victim after shooting people AFTER a fight was over? That's a no from me, dog.
