The Next Voice You Hear... (1950) is a drama film in which a voice claiming to be that of God preempts all radio programs for days all over the world. It stars James Whitmore and Nancy Davis as Joe and Mary Smith, a typical American couple. It was based on a short story of the same name by George Sumner Albee . The voice is never heard by the (film) audience

I first read about this film in a book on hilariously bad movies (including the infamous "Plan 9 From Outer Space").

It's obviuosly time for a re-make. Naturally, it would have to be television instead of radio...and the screen would have to "go blank".

But I figure it would rake in millions once word of mouth hit the evangelical churchs, Christian bookstores, and of course rightwing radio.
