Post your Chili recipes here.. This one is hot as a firecracker.. 3 cans (15 ounces each) red kidney beans, pinto beans or small red beans, drained 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 large onion, quartered, diced . 3 gloves garlic mashed and minced 1 green bell pepper, chopped (optional) 1 1/4 pound ground round 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes or one large can of Stewed tomatoes (my preference) 1 finely chopped jalapeno chile pepper, Do not seed 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce 1 tablespoon chili powder .2 teaspoons of cumin 1 1/2 teaspoons salt dash cayenne pepper, or to taste Red pepper flakes or Tabasco 2 bay leaves
I use fresh tomatoes that I grow , boil , and peel myself . Much more fresh tasting . 70 % of my chilli comes from my garden . I also add ghost chilli . Yum.
I make chile but not from a recipe. I usually use 3 bell peppers of different colors sliced large, 4-5 jalapenos (sliced) and a whole lot more than 1 tbsp. of chili powder. Sometimes I throw in a can of corn. The secret is in the cheese and raw onion you dump on top after about 2 hours of slow cooking. I've made it with everything from ground beef to ground turkey to rattlesnake. My favorite food and not all that bad for ya.
