Astronomers Discover Largest and Most Distant Reservoir of Water Yet

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/07/110722132828.htm

so i guess the earth didnt get its water from an asteroid as it is all over the universe in gas

ie...... i have claimed that is the sun's solar wind is sending H all day long, then if that H is hitting our earths atmosphere (21% approx), then water is perhaps increasing all day long on the earth (auroras...?!?!?)

need i mention what a solar flare would do? (ie.... perhaps cause an extinction if the earth was not sheilded by the magnetosphere (during a pole reversal))

funniest part of the 'news' clip

""It's another demonstration that water is pervasive throughout the universe, even at the very earliest times."

would that mean, LIFE is all over the universe too?

i wouldn't say that life is dependant on water or oxygen, just life as we know it. we use to think that sulfur would kill anything, and boiling water was too hot. yet at volcanic vents on the ocean floor, there's microbial life.

Great now we can hydrate explorers sent into space by NASA. Water was a major concern. OH WAIT...NASA....OBAMA...yeah scratch that. Well at least the Russians have and can use the information...

It's a cool find for sure though. It does represent progression in what we know of the galaxy.

If obama would just scratch the military spending by say 5 %, then we could use the tax dollars for them explorations.

we already got nuclear weapons and israel already fenced in gaza......perhaps if we cut the 3 billion a year to israel, we can do some more space truckin!
i tink china and india are doing better than the russians

heck, india sent up one mission to circle the moon and found water, how many times did the US and still couldnt confirm (or wouldnt)?
    progression..............!!!!

    i like that too....

i wonder when the new videos will come out to change the ignorant claims that the earth got its water by either magic or asteroids...... maybe they will publish about basic accretion..... as now anyone can use the basis that water is all over the universe.

kind of like LIFE is all over it too!!!!!!!

    got iranians in LA

and israel is a hodge-podge of people from just about every land mass on earth.

but i get your point. Question is, would you go out on a mission that may never return?

    how many here would?

I think we can cut other problems without screwing over my pay check anymore, thanks. You know the first thing they'll drop funding for is the members of the military...

Why is it that 'they' prefer to believe that everything on this planet came from somewhere else? Water, life...all from somewhere else. Why is it that they insist that nothing originated here...where it is?

Of course...It's energy...all stars radiate energy. How does that relate to water being 'shipped in' from an 'offworld' source and the elements of or life itself being transported here via a comet or embedded in some space rock? Why couldn't they have 'originated' here, as a part of some natural evolutionary process? Life could 'happen' in some other part of the galaxy or on some asteroid...but not here? Water occurs 'naturally' throughout the universe, in great quantity...except on this planet?

what elements are already 'here' in most abundance on earth?

    Is oxygen one of them?

If the sun is giving us 'H" all day long and that ionized H is combining with the O, what does that make?

i never said 'here' was not an option.

    again, you are assuming.

    I aint assuming.

I already realize the earth is not that old in comparison to the rest of the universe. And both water and the property (emergent) of life is naturally all over the unverse as natures realities.

So i am open to possibilities that both, life, water and natures processes exist all over the universe, naturally. I already know the earth is not the center of 'everything'.

It appears you like to put questions on the table that fornicate a claim, i never made. That method of your is self-flagellance.

I'm actually not referring to 'you' when I say 'they'. Unless, of course, you are they. How am I punishing myself?
And yes...the sun is bathing the earth with plenty of 'H', and 'O' is plentiful, naturally on the planet. Ergo, the occurrence of water stands to reason....yet "they" continue to insist that water has been introduced into the mix from an 'outside' source...why is that?

sometimes, me myself and i are wee.. But if you find that i am arguing with me and myself, it is because we are questioning both me and i, by myself.

    carbon and hydrogen

For orderly graphene sheets, just add Hydrogen

    By Lucy Sherriff, 22 July, 2011 21:32

    http://www.zdnet.co.uk/blogs/qubits...y-graphene-sheets-just-add-hydrogen-10023582/

so basically, that structure (PANH) is also, quite similar to just graphene with hydrogen caps?

Have you ever wondered why the shape dictates the wavelengths (spectra) of each type of PANH but the element count is almost identifcal?

Yeah it's totally Obama's fault that Bush cut funding forthe shuttle replacement in 2001 and cancelled the shuttle program in 2007.

Bush cancelled the current space program and put NASA on a different path. NASA started a new project to replace the shuttle design with a design closer to what Apollo used. Their mission was to revisit the moon. THAT was Bush.

OBAMA was the one who cut NASA all together. Can't blame Bush for this one either. I understand the desire to blame Bush for all of Obama's actions, but...

The ARES rocket was NOT a shuttle replacement. It was a moon return rocket, which would be a massive waste of money for nothing more than a propaganda piece. The ARES was too big to service LEO missions, which is the shuttle's job.

There was an improved shuttle in the works under Clinton but Bush, in his infinite wisdom, cancelled it, claiming that is was too expensive...then he went on to start a multi-trillion dollar war.
